Ever wonder why some wedding portraits look like they belong in a movie? Itâs not the editingâitâs the timing.
Letâs talk about golden hour.
That dreamy sliver of time right before sunset is hands-down one of the best moments for portraits on your wedding day. The light is soft, flattering, and warmâperfect for capturing those effortlessly romantic, glowy images couples always swoon over.
But hereâs the secret: it doesnât just happen.
Golden hour photos require intention and planning. Thatâs why I work closely with each couple (and their planner if they have one) to make sure we carve out just enough time for it. No rushing, no stressâjust you, your partner, and a chance to soak in that âwe really did thisâ moment while I capture it all.
And truthfully? These often end up being some of my favorite images of the entire day. The light, the connection, the calmâit all comes together in the most beautiful way.
If youâre planning your wedding right now, make sure golden hour is part of your timeline. And if youâre working with a photographer who values moments over posesâyouâre already halfway there.
