We added a little "spin" to your typical catering experience where we, as two chefs, compete for YOUR vote to see which chef makes it best! We are Chef Jake and Chef Ben and together, we are Throwdown Catering! We are so excited to get our business started and we hope to be bringing YOU some of our delicious food AND our little “spin” on catering! Allow us to explain. Food is SO much more than jus

t something you eat. Food is LOVE. Food is culture. It is friends and family. It is memories. Food…is an experience. And that is exactly what we aim to bring to you. An experience. The two of us go wayyy back and ever since the beginning, we have always been quite competitive with one another. Be it cornhole, bowling, or some game we made up dubbed “fweeble fwabble,” that competitiveness naturally slid into our cooking as well. We are both very passionate about our cooking and are convinced that we are each better than the other. And THAT my friends, is where you come in! When you hire Throwdown Catering for your event, you get not one chef, but TWO chefs preparing a menu, just for you! We will each make our own individual “style” of what you order and then compete against one another to see who makes it best! You and your guests then get to sample from both our menus and then vote on your favorite! By the end of the event, we will announce the winner! It’s a fun little twist on boring ol’ catering where you will actually get to interact with the chefs who prepared your food and let’s be honest, who doesn’t love a little competition? Especially when food is involved!? So, which team will YOU be?

I come to you with exciting news.

Chef Ben and I will be teaming up for another event this summer!
Now, please understand that a lot can change from now until then, and that this is in the very early stages... BUT

PAWS FOR A CAUSE - 2025 is in motion!

We will be teaming up with our good friends (and Chef Jake's favorite brewery) Edison Brewing! If y'all haven't checked out this spot, you are truly missing out.

THE DEETS:

DATE: June 21 (Saturday)
TIME: 1:00 - ??
MENU: Backyard BBQ
MUSIC: Landon Ross!? (Chef Jake's best friend)

LOCAL VENDORS!? (Providing services for dogs and other pets)

*** We will be supporting Canine Companions again. Truly a wonderful foundation.
So plan to bring out your doggos! Oh, and the kids can come, too.

*** If YOU are a vendor, or you know of a vendor, I would love to see if you'd be a great fit and add you to the event!

A whole lot more information to come!

*** I do want to make a sad note. This will be Throwdown Catering's last public event for the unforeseeable future. If you are available for this event and would like to show us some support (or just eat some fantastic food), then please make plans to come see us!

As is our favorite... wedding season!

If you (or someone you know) is in need of catering services, make sure to book with the best in Columbus (that's us). We guarantee you that we'll bring you some of the best (if not THE best) food that you'll ever have. And not only that, but we'll provide your guests an experience they won't soon forget! I mean, who else allows YOU to be the judge and decide which chef is best? (Hint: nobody).

Grab your doggos and come on out to our PAWS FOR A CAUSE event with Land-Grant Brewing Company this LABOR DAY for a dog-centric celebration!

Local vendors (dog walkers, sitters, groomers, treat makers) will showcase their products and services. Support local!

Enjoy our fantastic Backyard BBQ Buffet as Chef Jake faces off against Chef Ben in the ultimate BBQ throwdown! Both chefs will prepare their full menus of slow-smoked meats and delicious sides, and YOU get to decide the winner! It’s like a cooking show where YOU are the judge!
