We added a little "spin" to your typical catering experience where we, as two chefs, compete for YOUR vote to see which chef makes it best! We are Chef Jake and Chef Ben and together, we are Throwdown Catering! We are so excited to get our business started and we hope to be bringing YOU some of our delicious food AND our little “spin” on catering! Allow us to explain. Food is SO much more than jus

t something you eat. Food is LOVE. Food is culture. It is friends and family. It is memories. Food…is an experience. And that is exactly what we aim to bring to you. An experience. The two of us go wayyy back and ever since the beginning, we have always been quite competitive with one another. Be it cornhole, bowling, or some game we made up dubbed “fweeble fwabble,” that competitiveness naturally slid into our cooking as well. We are both very passionate about our cooking and are convinced that we are each better than the other. And THAT my friends, is where you come in! When you hire Throwdown Catering for your event, you get not one chef, but TWO chefs preparing a menu, just for you! We will each make our own individual “style” of what you order and then compete against one another to see who makes it best! You and your guests then get to sample from both our menus and then vote on your favorite! By the end of the event, we will announce the winner! It’s a fun little twist on boring ol’ catering where you will actually get to interact with the chefs who prepared your food and let’s be honest, who doesn’t love a little competition? Especially when food is involved!? So, which team will YOU be?

We had so much fun yesterday at Paws For A Cause 2025! Thank you so very much to Edison Brewing Company for hosting us and to Canine Companions for showing up with a few of their furry heroes!

Thank you to all the vendors who gave us their Saturday afternoon and for powering through all that heat! You are truly so very appreciated.

Thank you to Landon Ross (Facebookless) for entertaining us with his incredible musical talent. You're the best, my friend!

Thank you to everyone who came out to help us support this wonderful foundation. And thank you for voting for me, Chef Jake, as the victor! I will gladly display this trophy to show off my title of "Best Chef!"

*** I don't want to make any promises.... BUT there have been discussions of repeating this event for next year. So keep your eyes peeled. We just might be back for an even better Paws For A Cause in 2026! (And hopefully, we get a beautiful, much more tolerable, 75° day)

Please, if you're planning on attending, get your tickets ahead of time. It really helps us with a headcount so that we make y'all enough food! Limited available at the door. (We can only predict so many)

We will be giving back to a wonderful foundation called Canine Companions, who train dogs to be support animals for people with a wide variety of needs. All at NO cost at all to the recipient. We're big fans of this foundation and would absolutely love your help to support it!
