$40/hour • $80 minimum per event
Show-Me Dinosaurs is hiring giant 7-foot tall dinosaur costume performers in Columbia, MO! Bring our dinosaurs to life at parties, schools, festivals, and community events—and help create the moments kids talk about long after we leave.
Here’s how the gig works:
💵 $40/hour with a guaranteed $80 minimum per event—even when the in-costume portion is only one hour.
📅 Weekday and weekend opportunities. We work with your availability!
⏰ Most events take 2–4 hours from setup to pack-up.
This is occasional gig work based on booked events, not a position with guaranteed weekly hours.
Big dinosaur. Big energy. Real physical work.
You must be at least 5′8″ tall, have the strength and stamina to perform in a 75-pound costume for up to 60 minutes at a time, and keep the dinosaur lively and engaging throughout the show. A background check is required.
Great for students, athletes, theater folks, and anyone who enjoys entertaining a crowd and wants a physically active side gig!

📅 Flexible availability is a plus! We work with your schedule, but priority will be given to applicants available for a variety of weekday and weekend events.
💪 This is a physically demanding performance role—not simply wearing a costume for photos! You must have the strength and stamina to support and actively move in a 75-pound dinosaur costume while keeping the character lively and engaging. This requires sustained physical effort—not just the ability to lift 75 pounds once.
Priority consideration for applicants with experience in physically demanding jobs, sports, strength or endurance training, or mascot/costumed performance. Please include a brief description of your relevant experience when applying.
🦖 Training provided before your first show! We’ll schedule a hands-on training session in the costume so you can learn the movements, experience the physical demands, and make sure the role is a good fit for you before your first performance.
