Art has always been an escape for me.

I took this photo years ago, in the Rhino Art District long before Elevated Art Co. existed, and looking at it now feels a little different.

Art gives us somewhere to put the things we don’t always know how to say. Stress. Grief. Joy. Anger. Overwhelm. Sometimes it’s not even about creating something beautiful. Sometimes it’s just about getting out of your own head for a little while and letting your hands take over.

Somewhere along the way alot of us stopped creating just for the sake of creating. We stopped painting because we weren’t “artists. We stopped dancing because someone might be watching. We stopped making things because they didn’t have a purpose.

Consider this your reminder to romanticize your creativity again!

Paint the picture! Make the craft! Decorate the cake! Take the photo! Write the story! Sing too loud! Try something you’ve never done before!

It doesn’t have to be perfect or productive. Sometimes creating something simply because it makes you happy is reason enough.🖤
