Happy TEAsday!

We're so excited to bring back an old favorite tea just in time for the Dog Days of Summer. This ice cream-inspired tea makes a delicious cuppa or is yummy as a Tea Affogato.

We've also put out in the BouTEAque one of our Little London Tea Society member exclusive teas. Prince of Wales tea is a regal blend of black and green teas best served in the afternoon with scones. Full bodied with delicious hints of black currant.

Tea History
Commercial production of tea was first introduced into India by the British, in an attempt to break the Chinese monopoly on tea. The British East India Company’s expedition to reduce dependence on Chinese tea led to the discovery of indigenous tea plants, specifically the Camellia sinensis plant, which shared a close relationship with the Chinese tea plant.
From there the world was off to discover and fall in love with tea!

TEAgiFriday!

We have some awesome products in the BouTEAque, made by local artists, which will make your tea drinking ritual more fun and (my favorite) more functional.

Tea History
The story of the discovery of tea bags occurred in the early 1900s, when Thomas Sullivan accidentally invented the tea bag. Sullivan used to ship his tea samples to buyers for them to try. Tea was expensive. To reduce costs and make his packaging cheaper, Thomas replaced the metal tins with hand-sewn silk muslin bags, which looked like little sacks. When these samples were sent out, many of his patrons assumed that these little sacks were a new method of steeping and infusing tea, putting them directly into hot water. They did not realize it was meant to be packaging.
