Fall sessions are in full swing, and I’m squeezing in editing whenever I have a free moment! 🍁📸

I had to take a quick break from my editing queue to share a few favorites from Helen’s senior session last week at Mueller State Park!

We had a little rain, but that didn’t stop us from having the best time and capturing some gorgeous photos! Helen showed up in the most quintessential fall outfits, complete with brown boots that couldn’t have been more perfect for the setting. 🤎🍂

🍂 This November, I’m excited to support Discovery Canyon Campus PTO by offering fall family mini sessions on Sunday, November 1 and Saturday, November 7!

These 15-minute sessions are a wonderful opportunity to update your family photos while giving back to their school community. ❤️

What to wear for holiday family photos? Let's talk outfits! 🍂🤍⁠

You don't have to match perfectly to look put together! The Polk family is such a good example of how coordinating colors, mixing textures, and keeping things simple can create a beautiful, timeless look.⁠

A few tips to keep in mind when planning your family's outfits:⁠
⁠
🤍 Coordinate, don't match. Choose a color palette of 3–4 complementary shades rather than putting everyone in the same outfit.⁠
⁠
🍂 Mix in textures. Cozy knits, denim, and subtle patterns add dimension without making your photos feel too busy.⁠
⁠
✨ Keep comfort in mind. Especially for little ones! Choose outfits that let everyone move, play, and feel like themselves.⁠

🤎 Think about your location. Soft neutrals and earthy tones look beautiful against Colorado's fall scenery, but don't be afraid to add a little color!⁠

And remember, your family photos don't have to feel overly styled to be beautiful. The goal is to look like yourselves, just a little more coordinated. 🤍⁠

From the very beginning with this family. 🤍⁠

I first photographed them when they were expecting Isaiah, then came his newborn photos, family photos as a family of three, another maternity session as they waited for Oren, and now here we are... welcoming him home and documenting them as a family of four. 🥹⁠

Getting to watch a family grow through my camera is one of my favorite parts of what I do. From first babies to little brothers and all the seasons in between, it means so much to be invited back again and again.⁠

Is it too early to talk about the holidays yet? 👀❄️

Maybeeee... but with November right around the corner, I can’t help but start dreaming about snowy sessions again. Fresh snow, bundled-up families, rosy cheeks, and a winter backdrop make for some pretty beautiful family photos. 🤍

And while snow is never something we can perfectly plan for, when the timing works out, it’s SO worth it.

If a snowy family session is on your wish list this winter, now is a great time to start thinking about getting on my calendar! ❄️✨

With the Sangre de Cristo Mountains stretching out behind them, these two said “I do” surrounded by their favorite people in the heart of Westcliffe, Colorado.⁠

From their intimate outdoor ceremony to the sweetest newlywed portraits, I love how the mountains became part of their story without taking away from what mattered most: the two of them and the beginning of their marriage.⁠

We wandered through the pines, took advantage of that soft Colorado light, and let the scenery be part of the session without taking away from her. I love how relaxed and natural these feel, and of course we had to sneak in a few with one of her favorite books. 📖✨⁠

Hello, October. 🍂🤍

Family photo season is officially here, and this is always one of my favorite months to have families in front of my camera.

Beyond simply updating the family photo, these are often some of the images you end up using the most. They make their way onto holiday cards, into frames around the house, into gifts for grandparents, and eventually into the albums you’ll pull out years from now.

And with the holidays not too far behind us, now is a good time to start thinking about what you want your family photos to look like this year. Fall colors, a snowy mountain backdrop, your own home decorated for Christmas... there are so many ways to make them feel like your family.
