For some, it's the excitement of a high school senior preparing for the next season of life.

For others, it's a family wanting to capture a moment in time, a beloved pet who is part of the family, or a business owner investing in a brand they've worked hard to build.

Years from now, these photographs will hold meaning far beyond the moment they were taken.

I tried something a little different creatively with this shoot — and had SO much fun with it.

Playing with dramatic lighting, shadows, color, and mood reminded me why I fell in love with photography in the first place.

Sometimes stepping outside your normal style pushes you creatively in the best ways — and honestly, I think that’s such a good thing.

This image feels bold, cinematic, and emotional all at once. And I’m not gonna lie… I’m a little obsessed with how it came together. 🖤

Creative sessions like this are such a good reminder that art doesn’t always have to fit inside a box. And when it doesn’t? That’s usually when the magic happens.

My kids were obsessed with Cluelazt year and so I had some fun recreating the characters with them. My daughter was Mrs White with the knife, Miss Scarlet with the rope and Mrs. Peacock with the candlestick. While my son was Professor Plum with the wrench, Colonel Mustard with the lead pipe and Mr Green with the revolver.

We had a blast and each look came together with the help of my amazing hair and makeup artist kimclayartistry! She is a genius.

Even cooler is that it won Silver at the International Photo Competition.

We have these images displayed in our staircase going down to their rooms and it is so much fun to be reminded of them every time we see them.
