We don’t just host different events. We get to watch this enormous blank box reinvent itself week after week.

Last week: western gala/banquet, live music, ballet, horses outside.

This week: red-carpet creative conference with temporary classrooms built inside an arena.

A few weeks ago: tattoo festival.

Other times: literal rodeo dirt and thousands of spectators.

And we get to sit in the middle of all of it watching people figure out increasingly weird and wonderful ways to use the same building.

Nothing quite like a fresh arena floor to kick off the Colorado High School and Eastern Plains Rodeo this weekend Saturday and Sunday, September 5-6th. 8:30AM - 3:30PM

Come cheer on talented young rodeo athletes from across Colorado as they compete in barrel racing, bull riding, ba****ck and saddle bronc riding, steer wrestling, breakaway and team roping, pole bending, goat tying and more.

Events begin daily in the Barrel Arena at 8:30 a.m., followed by Grand Entry and competition in the Main Arena beginning at 9:00 a.m. Event times and order are subject to change.

Admission is free for spectators—bring the family and enjoy an exciting Labor Day weekend of rodeo action at Norris Penrose Event Center!

Did you know Norris Penrose Event Center & Campground has direct access to Bear Creek Regional Park and its trail system?

Take it from the bears. 🐻🐻

A mama and her cub stopped by for a visit this morning near the trail entrance, and one of our campground guests captured this incredible Colorado moment!

*No bears, creeks, campers, or campground guests were harmed in the making of this video.*

And sorry not sorry, Norris Penrose Campground does not allow tent or pop-up camping—for obvious and not-so-obvious safety reasons.
