We just released a new behind-the-scenes vlog from Discovery Canyon Campus High School’s prom at Spruce Mountain Ranch in Larkspur, Colorado. A venue known for weddings and special events, but also one that hosts a steady lineup of school proms each spring.

What stands out about working at Spruce Mountain is the way the venue supports our full-scale production for these events. It gives us the ability to bring in our systems and focus on ex*****on from start to finish: audio, lighting, lasers, haze, and everything in between, to help create the environment the students walk into on prom night.

We’ve been fortunate to work there multiple times (Rokbox Entertainment), and it has become a place our team genuinely enjoys returning to each season.

A big thank you to Spruce Mountain Events for the continued partnership and for always being a reliable, professional space to build in.

As a reminder, we share a new behind-the-scenes vlog every Tuesday on our YouTube channel, highlighting passion projects, productions, and events our team supports throughout the year.

Last month, Eddy Sound partnered with Gold Hill Mesa to light up the historic smokestack here in the City of Colorado Springs, and we just released a full behind the scenes vlog showing how it all came together.

What started as a creative lighting project quickly turned into something the whole city seemed to notice. People in the Gold Hill Mesa community were seeing it light up from nearby, while others across Colorado Springs caught it from miles away. We even had friends texting us asking if it was us, and shortly after, we started seeing posts pop up in local Facebook groups and Reddit threads.

For one night, a 100 plus year old piece of Colorado Springs history became a glowing landmark again.

Our crew transformed a smokestack into a massive illuminated beacon using a fully temporary lighting and power setup brought together by an incredible team behind the scenes.

If you want to see how it all came together, from setup to programming to strike, the full vlog is now live on YouTube.

We’d love your support, and we’d love to hear what you think.

We just dropped a new YouTube vlog, and this one was a little warehouse project along the lines of the days.

Lately we’ve been working through a few lighting concepts and use cases for some upcoming client ideas, and a big part of that has been experimenting with our Minuit Une IVL fixtures (Dice and Photon units). These are the fixtures that keep showing up in photos in the Everything Stage Lighting group where people ask, “What is that?”

So we decided to do what we always do when we’re developing a concept. We built it.

We set up a full truss structure in our warehouse, hung the IVLs, added supporting lighting, and ran haze and low fog to test how the system behaves and what kind of looks we can create in a real space. The best way for us to show a client what’s possible is to build it, refine it, and then put it right in front of them.

This vlog isn’t a formal review. It’s a real-world demo and creative test session, and it gave us a lot of ideas for how these fixtures can be used in shows and experiential environments.

Curious what you all think. Have you used IVLs yet, or seen them on a show?

Take a look behind the scenes in our most recent YouTube release.

Some would say it was just a high school assembly, but we approached it like any other live event. The school’s built-in sound system is showing its age, so we brought in a full Martin Audio Ltd sound system to make sure the event had real impact, clarity, and coverage across the entire gym. We also deployed a full lighting rig to bring energy into the room and elevate the production value beyond a typical assembly.

This video walks through the entire day from load-in to setup, rehearsals, showtime, and a quick strike. If you’ve ever wondered what it actually takes to deploy a serious sound system in a gym, build a lighting rig, and keep everything running smoothly, this is a good one.

🎥 NEW VLOG IS LIVE! | Winter Polo Classic Behind the Scenes

We’re back with another behind-the-scenes vlog, and this one was a fun one.

Eddy Sound had the opportunity to support the 2026 Winter Polo Classic at the Norris Penrose Event Center here in Colorado Springs, marking our third year working with The Sports Corp on this incredible event.

This year, we didn’t just handle audio… we added a full multi-camera livestream, complete with real-time switching and a full video front-of-house setup.

From load-in to setup to showtime to strike, this vlog gives a real look at what it takes to run production in a wide-open outdoor arena environment with long cable runs, crisp spring weather, and a great crew.

Colorado Springs showed up for this one. 🙌

We had the opportunity to support The Sports Corp's 2026 Downtown Winter Fest at the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Museum, and it was an awesome day filled with vendors, live entertainment, and Olympic City energy.

We filmed the whole behind-the-scenes process, from load-in to showtime to strike.

We drove across multiple states with a truck full of gear to build a 20x50 booth at D2Dcon… with a small crew and no room for mistakes.

Long days, heavy lifts, and a full audio, video, and lighting setup that had to come together on site.

And then Cypher brought in a surprise guest… Zach Barnett of American Authors.

This is the side of live event work most people never see.

We’re back on YouTube.

After some time away from posting, we’re excited to start sharing more of the creative and technical side of what we do at Eddy Sound.

For this video, we teamed up with local creative Russell Klimas (Light & Lense) and spent a cold night driving around downtown Colorado Springs to see if we could projection map five murals across the city using a completely mobile setup.

No big production.
No audience.
Just a couple of projectors, portable power, and a lot of curiosity.

It was a fun experiment and a great reminder that sometimes the best way to show what’s possible is to simply go out and do it.

This is just the start; we’ve got more ideas and projects we’re excited to share with you.

It’s Ultra Music Festival weekend, which means one thing—the Eddy Sound Lighting Lab is back in full force for our own watch party! After a hiatus in 2024 (because we were out making other shows happen), we’re back bigger and better than ever.

The setup? Next level.
◦ 66-panel SquareV V3w video wall for the live stream
◦ 56 lighting fixtures & 4 laser projectors on a massive truss structure
◦ Martin Audio THS speakers & SX218 subs bringing the chest hitting bass
◦ And just for fun; WPM line arrays so we can switch between different Martin Audio rigs throughout the weekend

Ultra isn’t just a festival—it’s inspiration. So while the DJs, VJs, and LDs are putting on an epic show in Miami, we’re busking along right here in the lab. A weekend dedicated to company culture, creativity, and a little bit of fun.

📸 The photo? A throwback from our 2022 watch party. The 2025 edition is even bigger—stay tuned for the full setup!

If you’re in the know and want to experience Ultra Miami as close as you can without actually being there, hit us up to check the schedule and see when we’re in the lab enjoying the show.

We always look forward to providing production services for Taste of Pikes Peak, and this past year was no exception! With The Reminders rocking the main stage and an energized crowd filling the street, it was a night to remember.

Our Martin Audio WPC sound system, rigged from VMB TL-A500 line array lifts, delivered crystal-clear sound that carried throughout the festival. Seeing our gear in action at one of our favorite events never gets old.

We’re also thrilled to share that this amazing event has been nominated for two Colorado Event Alliance ICON Awards—Best Public Event, Fair or Festival and Best Overall Event! Huge congrats to StudioQ for their incredible planning and ex*****on. We’re grateful they continue to trust us with so many of their fantastic events.

If you haven’t experienced Taste of Pikes Peak, mark your calendar for Thursday, July 17th, 2025. With over 90 unique tastes from the region’s best restaurants, breweries, and distilleries, plus live music to keep the energy high, it’s a celebration you won’t want to miss!
