Happy Birthday Fred Rogers !
(March 20, 1928 – February 27, 2003)

Fred, commonly know as ‘Mister Rogers’, was an American television host, author, producer, and Presbyterian minister. He was the creator, showrunner, and host of the preschool television series Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood, which ran from 1968 to 2001.

I paint him here opening a door for the viewer. Welcoming them in just as they are.

We've all been grasping for voices, connections, and practices to find the ground these days, and to ground our courage. I (Brandon) have been returning to the voice of Franciscan priest Richard Rohr, whose fusion of contemplation and action always feel like a kind of homecoming.

Will you join me in a book club this spring on his final book? "The Tears of Things" releases next week, with a dozen copies headed to the Bookstore.
