The Springfield - Banquet Hall & Catering

The Springfield - Banquet Hall & Catering The Springfield is a banquet hall and catering service in Shamokin/Coal Township, PA. The Springfield Banquet Hall changed owners in December 2016.

After nine months of remodeling, it is now THE venue for your special event. The hall can accommodate up to 270 guests (175 with no tables on the dance floor, more if we remove tables after the meal). We're a full service facility. That is, no outside food or alcohol is permitted (with exceptions like birthday/wedding cakes, party favors, etc). When you book with us for an in-house event, we provi

de everything you need as part of the price - tables, chairs, tablecloths, dinnerware, serving ware, staff, etc. We also set up and clean up, so you just need to show up and enjoy! Although most bands and many DJs provide their own equipment, our audio-video gear is capable of supporting most of your needs. The sound system has four speakers with subwoofer, powered by a QSC PLD4.2 Power Amplifier with DSP, equalizer, and 16-channel DJ mixer board. Four wireless Shure SM58 microphones (and a wireless headset and clip-on mic) support anything from wedding toasts to panel discussions at business meetings. There's a 65" flat screen TV above the DJ stand, a 50" flat screen around the corner in the rear portion of the hall, and two 120" high definition projection TVs in the main part of the hall. Route video from our DVD player or your laptop (connected via a provided HDMI cable) to any or all of the screens with our HDMI matrix switch. If you need to show a different video on each of the four screens, just let us know and we can provide additional input cables. Our portable podium has an HDMI transmitter in it, so you can plug in your laptop wherever it's placed in the hall and connect into the AV system wirelessly. The Springfield Banquet Hall has been in business since the 1960s (as a banquet hall - it's served other purposes back to 1910 or before), and parking has been an ever-increasing problem since it's located in a residential neighborhood with no dedicated parking lot. But we've solved it! We first used a parking shuttle to pick up guests at a satellite lot. And in February 2022 we completed a 43-space parking lot 1/2 block from the hall. We still run the shuttle for large events. The Springfield is owned and operated by Lisa Roszko and John Eccker.

Our Story

We bought The Springfield Banquet Hall in December 2016. After nine months of remodeling, it is now THE venue for your special event. The Springfield comfortably seats up to 175 guests for events with a dance floor, 200 without a dance floor, and 250-260 for fundraiser events such as bingo. We also have ample AV resources to host corporate events. We're a full service facility. That is, no outside food or alcohol is permitted (with exceptions like birthday/wedding cakes, party favors, etc). Four wireless Shure SM58 microphones support anything from wedding toasts to panel discussions at business meetings. There's a 65" flat screen TV above the DJ stand, a 37" flat screen around the corner in the rear portion of the hall, and two 120" high definition projection TVs in the main part of the hall. Route video from our DVD player or your laptop (connected via a provided HDMI cable) to any or all of the screens with our HDMI matrix switch. If you need to show a different video on each of the four screens, just let us know and we can provide additional input cables. For funerals and smaller parties where some background music is desired (but not enough to need a DJ), you can select a Sirius XM channel to listen to - we have a business subscription which takes care of any royalties. The Springfield Banquet Hall has been in business since the 1950s, and parking has been an ever-increasing problem since it's located in a residential neighborhood with no dedicated parking lot. But we've solved it! Drivers can now drop off their passengers at the hall, park in a nearby satellite parking lot, and get a ride back to the hall in our shuttle bus. Round trip between the lot and the hall is just five minutes. And in 2020 we’ll be adding our own parking lot just half a block away! The Springfield is owned and operated by Lisa Roszko and John Eccker.
