First year growing zinnias from specific breeders. Such interesting and unique colors. 🌸 can't wait to select some later...

Spent some time recently stripping the lower leaves from the zinnias to increase airflow. With as humid as it gets here in WNC, it can help reduce disease pressure later in the season.

Not the most glamorous task but an important one! 🌸

No idea which critter was so mad but thankfully the plant is in good condition. Let's hope this doesn't become the newest hurdle to growing in the lower yard.

How it started ➡️ How it’s going

Hundreds of empty grow bags. 200+ bags of soil. 185 tubers. One good arm, and a lot of sweat and hope. 😂

Fast forward a few months and the dahlias are actually looking like real plants. Only 4 of 185 lost to rot. 🙌

There’s still a lot of work left in the season but we're getting somewhere! 🌸
