🌿 Yesterday at church, a woman named Jackie walked up and handed me a bag. I immediately said, “I can’t take this, I don’t have cash.” She looked at Travis and me, smiled, and said, “God told me to give this to you.” Then she walked away.
🌿 It made me reflect on how so many of us are conditioned to think about giving. True giving isn’t a transaction—it comes from a place of pure love and a desire to bring someone else a moment of joy. The only time a tally should ever exist is when kindness is taken for granted, but genuine love gives freely.
🌿 I always try to keep mental notes of the little things the people I care about mention wanting or trying or complement, so I can bless them when the opportunity comes. But that’s the beauty of a real gift—you can’t force thoughtfulness. It has to come from a heart that finds genuine joy in making someone else smile.
