Most anyone that lives in Clinton or that has traveled through the town is aware that the chances of getting caught by a train are pretty high! Approximately 32 trains travel through Clinton each day! Original plans were for the trains to bypass Clinton; however, under the leadership of Dr. William P. Jacobs and the town of Clinton approached the Seaboard Air Line Railroad and persuaded them to ru

n the tracks through downtown Clinton. Here on Main Street Clinton, SC we celebrate our history and love of trains within our downtown events. Hope you will join us in celebrating Historic Clinton, SC. Rhythm on the Rails is an annual two-day spring festival celebrating the heritage and culture of Clinton, South Carolina. Held in May the weekend before memorial day in historic downtown Clinton. The annual festival includes live music, a BBQ competition sanctioned by the Southern Barbecue Network, games, rides, vendors, and plenty of shopping. Music, food, family fun, and Clinton’s railroad heritage all rolled together to create a great weekend. Whether you're competing in the BBQ competition or just looking to spend the day having fun, there's something for everyone at Rhythm on the Rails!

This year the county wide Freedom Fest Parade will be held on July 3rd in Downtown Laurens. The parade’s theme is “We the people…” The parade starts at 4 PM at Laurens Middle School and travels down W Main Street to the City Square. If you would like to participate in the parade please have your application in to Main Street Laurens by June 25th. You can find the application at www.exploreclintonsc.com.
