What a night at the Fletcher Park Recreation Center. If you weren't in the building for MAY-HEM, you missed one of the most explosive nights of action we have ever seen in Central Illinois Pro Wrestling.
We started the evening with a glimpse into the future as we unveiled the brand new Professional Wrestling Glory Championship title. The energy was electric as the fans saw what everyone will be fighting for from here on out.
The action didn't wait to heat up. Trauma Unit and The Revolution went to war in a tag team battle that proved why they are the gold standard for the Midwest. Experience eventually paid off as the Trauma Unit secured the pin in an absolute classic.
In the Triple Threat to decide the number one contender for the DownState Championship, B.A. Malkin showed exactly why he is a master of the ring. Despite a high impact effort from The Deliverer Moses and Kenny Kalix, Malkin utilized his technical precision to pin Moses and secure his rematch for the title.
The building then got to hear from Tony G and he made it clear that he is done being overlooked. His best friend Jordan Perry never asked him to be his partner for the tag match later. He promised to leave a mark on PWG that no one will ever be able to ignore.
Our NBS Academy showcase proved that the future is bright. Quentin Crossland dominated the majority of the bout, but Johnny Mac showed incredible heart. Johnny turned a late mistake by Quentin into a quick reversal and a massive pinfall victory.
Then came a good old fashioned hoss fight. Jarred Allen and Camaro Jackson engaged in a total slugfest that shook the ring. Camaro had the momentum but took just a second too long playing to the fans. Jarred didn't hesitate, catching him in a devastating torture rack power bomb to get the three count.
The mood shifted when Spotlight and Evan Conway were interrupted by Marveen and SG1. After Marveen threw out some serious disrespect and accused Evan of faking his injury, a match was made on the spot. The Central Illinois legend The Spotlight didn't blink, proving he is still at the top of his game with a lightning fast win over Marveen.
With Tony G watching from the crowd, the scheduled tag team match took a turn when Vinny Sylus tried to prove to Jordan Perry that he could handle adversity on his own. Perry took the move as total disrespect. This is exactly what Tony G was trying to warn Jordan about. A frustrated Perry eventually sided with Cameron Settles and Titus Emanuel to give Vinny a lesson in team dynamics he won't forget anytime soon.
In a clash of styles, Victor Analog took on Logan Cavazos. While Logan is far from a rookie, he still has a lot of maturing to do in this business. Victor’s veteran savvy was the deciding factor as he secured the pinfall.
Finally, the main event delivered the closure we’ve been waiting for. After months of tension, DaCobra and The Prodigal Son finally settled the score. The Prodigal Son was prepared, but you can’t stop the Strike King. The Elite Warrior stood tall at the end of the night with a pin that solidified his legendary status.
Thank you to everyone who packed the building and made the Fletcher Park Recreation Center the place to be.
We are already looking toward the next one.
Central Illinois, thank you for being the best fans in the world.
