I would like to thank everyone for their support after my father passed June 24. There was a go fund me (https://gofund.me/ed258dba9) page set up for him to save his house and help with the funeral costs yet nobody donated. The wonderful store he worked for, Meijer, kept almost half of his 401K because they claimed he was retiring too early and the life insurance he paid for was cancelled with no benefits paid. So next time anyone goes to the store please remember how the employees are remembered and treated after giving years of service.

It's with great sadness that we must say goodbye to Phil Wendel. He passed at 6:30 this morning.

I just wanted to give my dad's friends an update on his condition. He has stopped eating and is refusing medication while he is in the nursing home. He was only supposed to be there for rehab so he could come back home but his condition is getting much worse and unfortunately the doctors feel he only has days or maybe a week or two left. I will let everyone on this page know when the inevitable happens. Thank you for your support. Dave, Phil's son.

Phil will be getting out of the hospital soon and coming home. We can't wait to get him back to familiar surroundings.

Phil was recovering at a nursing home/rehab facility and went into Reno failure last night. He's been taken to the hospital and is currently fighting. We're all hoping for the best.

Update on Phil. He fell out of bed Sunday night and wasn't found for over 12 hours because of my work schedule. An ambulance was called and he was admitted to the hospital. The doctors couldn't find anything major wrong that would have caused him to fall out bed. After 6 days in the hospital he is now being moved to a rehab facility to get him back to the point he can come home again. This should be a week or two at the minimum. Thank you for your support. Just wanted to give everybody an update because we hear they've been asking about Phil when they go to Meijer on 16 and Van D**e. Phil is doing okay his memory is getting worse He's having trouble walking but he can still get around in his house. Since leaving Meijer he's had some financial difficulties but we're working through those he didn't remember some things that needed to be taken care of. Thank you all for asking about him and I will try to update when I can.

Come visit Phil He's greeting people tonight at Club 10 on 10 Mile and Harper in St Clair Shores. The drinks are flowing and the food is good. Stop in and say hi.
