Food has always been important to us.

Not simply because people need something to eat, but because food has the power to become part of the story.

Some of our favorite celebrations have included woodland-inspired treats tucked among the décor, fair food to help bring to life a county fair theme, picnic food that fit perfectly for a Huck Finn shower, a wedding soup and finger sandwich spread that leaned into the autumn atmosphere, and tea tables that invited guests to slow down and linger a little longer.

For us, food has never been just a menu.

It’s a conversation starter. A memory maker. A way to reinforce the atmosphere and help guests feel immersed in the experience.

When we begin designing a celebration, we don’t start by asking, “What should we serve?”

We start by asking, “What do we want guests to experience?”

The décor, the setting, the activities, the flow of the event, and yes, even the food, all work together to support that vision.

Because at the end of the day, the most memorable celebrations aren’t built around a meal.

They’re built around the people gathered around it.

What is the most meaningful part of a shower, a reunion, a birthday party, or a wedding?

At the end of the day, the most meaningful part of any event isn’t what was served or what was worn.

It’s the moment phones are laid aside and a table of strangers begins to talk like old friends.

It’s when laughter travels around the room.

It’s when someone says, “Remember when…” or “When I had my first baby…”

It’s when a bride walks in and a collective gasp is the loudest sound in the room.

It’s the people who gathered and the memories they made together.

That’s the part that lasts.

That’s what can’t be ordered from an options list.

Those are the moments we help create through thoughtful planning and purposeful coordination.

Because it’s all about the people you share these moments with and the memories you carry for a lifetime.

Over the years, we've planned and hosted a ton of events.

This has looked like farm dinners, children's events, cooking classes, teas, celebrations, weddings, showers, galas, silent auctions, out-of-the-box vacations, faith-based group excursions, mystery dinners, and countless moments around a table.

What has never changed is this: People need, and want, to connect.

We feel honored every time we're trusted to create a place for that to happen.

What makes an event feel meaningful?

It’s usually not the things that cost the most.

Years from now, guests rarely remember the colors, the type of seating, or whether there were three floral arrangements or thirty.

They remember how they felt.

They remember laughing until their sides hurt.
They remember conversations that lasted longer than planned.
They remember gathering around a table instead of rushing through a schedule.

At Lily, Lantern & Lace, we believe beautiful details matter, but only when they support connection.

When people think about an event, they often start with the venue, the menu, the flowers, or the decorations.

We start somewhere else.

We start by asking, “How do you want people to feel?”

Do you want guests to feel welcomed and relaxed? Excited and playful? Elegant and celebrated? Nostalgic? Connected?

Because long after the cake is eaten, the flowers are gone, and the decorations are packed away, what people remember most is how an event made them feel.

They remember laughing with cousins they hadn’t seen in years.

They remember stories shared around a table.

They remember feeling seen, included, celebrated, and connected.

The most meaningful celebrations aren’t built around centerpieces or color palettes. They’re built around people.

Our approach to wedding Dining…..

We believe the ceremony is a sacred moment of witnessing two lives become one, while the reception is where the celebration truly opens up—where guests are meant to mingle, laugh, reconnect, and share in the joy of the day together.
Because of that, we encourage relaxed, interactive dining experiences that support that atmosphere rather than interrupt it.
Interactive food stations, grazing-style displays, taco bars, BBQ stations, soup bars, sandwich stations, hors d’oeuvre receptions, and other relaxed dining concepts often create a more welcoming atmosphere where guests feel comfortable mingling and engaging throughout the celebration.
While we do not provide the food itself, we love helping clients envision how food can become part of the overall guest experience. From layout and flow to display design and presentation, we work alongside your chosen caterer or food provider to create dining spaces that feel inviting, intentional, and beautifully integrated into the celebration as a whole.
For us, food is more than a meal. It’s an opportunity to bring people together.
