For my entire life, I struggled to find my thing. You know the one I mean. That single thing that speaks straight to your soul and drives you. The one perfect thing you can't breathe without. I watched other people seem to have it and I kept wondering where mine was.
Well. Floaters is that. It's inside me like my blood. I couldn't get away from it if I tried, and believe me, there have been moments I've thought about trying. I wrote about that in detail in my short free ebook at https://www.clevelandfloaters.com/floataboveit
That's both comforting and terrifying. The comforting part is obvious. After a whole life of searching, you finally know. The scary part is the question that comes right behind it: what if people don't like it?
What if, what if, what if.
That's the nonsense fear. The one that stops all of us from being what we actually want to be and doing what we actually want to do. It's the fear of not having a paycheck to cover the bills. The fear of rejection. The fear of looking foolish in front of everyone you know. The fear of ending up in a van down by the river.
But at some point in your life, if you're paying attention, you realize something. The people who cross that fear threshold are the ones who get to live authentically, on their own terms. Every person you've ever admired for going all in is just someone who pushed past that exact fear instead of letting it park them.
This has been the most fun I've ever had building anything. It's special. I can feel it. And I know, I KNOW, it's going to resonate with the people who come. Even if the first one isn't perfect. The idea is mine, it's true, and I've shoved that fear down into a place where it can't reach the controls.
I found my thing. Now I'm just going to go do it. First show in a week.
