Just a friendly reminder that this Saturday, August 1st is the deadline to sign up for the East Light Yacht Club’s 2026 Steak Roast!

Join us on Saturday, August 8th for a great afternoon and evening featuring:
🥩 Steak dinner with potatoes, corn on the cob & salad
🎶 Live music by the Second Wind Band
🍽️ Food served at 4:00 PM | 🎵 Band starts at 7:00 PM

💲 $30 Members | $35 Non-Members

🎄🎅 Christmas in July is TODAY! 🚤✨

Grab your family and friends and come celebrate with the East Light Yacht Club! Join us from 4:00–8:00 PM for music, great potluck food, a White Elephant gift exchange (up to $10), and prizes for the best outfit and best decorated boat.

Then cap off the evening with the Parade of Lights! Decorated boats will meet at the mouth of the Cuyahoga River at 9:30 PM before heading up the river to Merwin’s Wharf.

We’d love to see everyone there! 🎄⚓🎁

The 2nd annual ELYC Co****le tournament is coming up on 7/11! Comment here with your name and dock number to sign up! This will be a blind draw upper and lower skill pairing. So let us know if you consider yourself an A or B player. Each team will be made up of 1 blind draw from the A bucket and one from the B bucket. It's always a fun time. $15 per player paid at registration. Please note, we raised the price of the registration since the last post to include food. The number of players determines the final prize. Hope to see you all there!

Looking for volunteers!
The sewer district will begin a sewer improvement project on the backside of our parking lot in the coming few weeks as I have been told. This is going to require that they temporarily move the back parking lot fence in about fifty feet or so. This means that our sheds will need to be relocated temporarily as well. We are being asked to put together a group of people who will be available to empty the sheds, so that they can move it with a large piece of equipment, and then we will need to put our stuff back in. When they finish redoing the sewers, we will then need a group of people to do the same thing in reverse so they can put our sheds back where they were in the first place. Who's in?

The new entry system is almost ready. As soon as the fobs come in, they'll get things rolling. You will have phone app and fob access to the gates at the dock and the parking lot and the bathroom. Bathroom will also have a number keypad for your guests. As an added convenience, the bathroom doors will not require access codes or key fobs from 7am to 9pm daily. That way, your kids or your guests will not have to search for a fob or keypad code to use the restroom. As an added bonus, you will also be able to use your Phone app to open the main gate for your guests from your dock. Instead of having to walk up there like we have in the past. Almost there!

A huge thank you to everyone who came out to the East Light Yacht Club’s First Annual Kids Fishing Derby today! We had an amazing turnout, and it was great to see all the kids having such a fun time at the lake.

Ten young anglers competed in the derby and together caught an impressive total of 51 fish! Prizes included Cabela’s gift cards, fishing gear, cash, candy, and more.

Thank you again to everyone who participated and helped make our first derby such a success. We can’t wait to do it again next year!
