The Collinwood Neighborhood Walk organized by Better Streets is still happening tonight. We will bring lots of ice water to share :) If you want to join the fun, meet outside Collinwood Recreation Center at 16300 Lakeshore Blvd at 7pm. We will walk for about a one mile loop and enjoy some popsicles at Humphrey Park at the end.

Come for a summer evening stroll with your neighbors on Monday, June 23 @ 7pm. We'll meet outside Collinwood Rec and walk for about a mile. There will be treats at the end and all ages are welcome. Do you think there should be better places to bike and walk in Collinwood? Let's walk and talk about it together on this walk organized by members of Collinwood Better Streets. Don't forget to wear comfortable shoes and bring a water bottle. If you can't make it Monday but are interested in advocating for walkable neighborhoods, consider joining the Collinwood Better Streets meeting on Tuesday, June 24, 6-7:30pm at Waterloo Arts.

If you live in Collinwood and are interested in getting an update on the Euclid Beach arch and new park that is being created to accommodate it on Lakeshore Blvd, please come to the Collinwood Better Streets meeting tonight at the Collinwood Rec Center at 6pm. The City of Cleveland will give an overview of the new park plan and also discuss Humphrey Park upgrades. If you can't make it, there will be a community planning meeting in June and we'll share specifics when we have them. The redevelopment of Lakeshore Blvd is so important to the neighborhood and there should be community input throughout the process. By showing up tonight you can help give a message that the citizens of Collinwood want to be involved.

Collinwood Better Streets is a group of residents who meet on the last Tuesday of every month to work on ways to make our streets better public space for people. The initiatives of the group are driven by the members who attend and we welcome anyone interested in learning more to join us. Better Streets is a program of Bike Cleveland.

How Do We Look?, an exhibition by Laura Bidwa and Elizabeth A. Emery, is on view at Waterloo Arts until May 24!

This show considers how two artists translate experiences in nature to abstraction.

To complement the show, Bidwa and Emery are excited to invite visitors to join them working outdoors during a special community session from 1:00–3:00 on Saturday, May 10 (tomorrow!). Inspired by Chicago artist Leslie Baum’s Plein Air Project, they will lead conversation as the group works together about what kinds of things we notice when we’re outside, and what we each do with these experiences — how we select and pursue priorities for our drawing or painting. If weather is inclement, we’ll gather in the café space next to the gallery.

Visitors are also encouraged to talk more with the artists during a happy hour after the community session in the cafe from 4-6pm.

All materials provided and participants are welcome to bring their own materials.
