Kogent in Uganda!!!

12 DAYS!!! Feeling thankful to be joining in their attempt to bring some much needed help to 3 beautiful orphanages in Uganda. Our goals is to raise 75k for them to help buy their own land, build housing, and most importantly food for the kids. I’ll be creating a mini documentary to hopefully bring some awareness of all the amazing work happening over there.

Follow along, donate if possible, and send thoughts and prayers to the less fortunate this holiday season.

I’ve been posting a lot of work lately, but I realized I haven’t properly reintroduced myself — so hey 👋 I’m Michael Kent!

🎥 Cleveland-based videographer + creative director — totally self-taught and obsessed with storytelling through video.

📸 Creativity runs in the family — my dad and grandpa were both hobby photographers, so I basically grew up around cameras and film.

📚 Perpetual learner — I’m the type who deep-dives into YouTube tutorials, gear reviews, and creative experiments just for fun.

💼 Former corporate guy — spent over a decade in banking and even worked for the Department of Defense before trading the 9-to-5 for full-time creativity in 2018.

🌟 By 2020 I was helping brands tell better stories with Dreamhouse Marketing and community projects in Coventry Village, Phoenix Coffee, and Cleveland Water Alliance.

🎬 In 2022, I launched Kogent Studios — where I focus on cinematic, story-driven video for brands, nonprofits, and corporations.

💡 My superpower? Empathy and listening. I love finding the human heartbeat behind every brand story.

🕰️ Also a bit of a perfectionist — organized, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering work that feels right.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Outside of the studio — husband, dad of three, weekend baker (my brownies are kind of famous), and lover of all things outdoors.
