Oh well it has been a while since Dozer has commented on his own page..so now that he is back in Berea after his wonderful retreat at the lovely "NoonDay Valley" Its time for Old Doz to get back to earning his keep. Today he gave a couple of future cowboys a nice little ride and made friends with some very nice fillies. 2legged and four legged.

we are trying to get a "like" button and get friends to the Pony Rides page so they can post pictures of themselves on their ponies. What do you think?

Good Evening to everyone who has been so supportive on this new adventure. I am going to give everyone a little history on how "Pony Rides" got its start. I hope a lot of our followers will add their own stories of why we spend so much time and money on this crazy equine hobby.

I was one of those kids who loved horses, ponies, zebras, donkeys

mules, unicorns etc. you know the type..you probably were one or have a child who is one. If this isn't the case than you probably

wouldn't be reading this blog. Anyhow I spent a tremendous amount of time in the barn with my favorite "Goldie Pony". My parents divorced and my mom, sister and I moved to an apt, where I couldn't have a horse. As we all know absence only makes the heart grow fonder and I spent every waking minute trying to convince my mother that I "Needed a Horse". Well for many years I settled for camp 2 weeks every summer and reading every horse book Margaret Henry ever wrote. Then came boys and cars, then boys with cars.

Well needless to say horses and their odors took a back seat in my life for many years. I grew up, became a nurse and had a little girl of my own who wanted a pony, but we lived in the paved suburbs.

So I hired a woman to bring a pony to our house for her 4th birthday. I paid that woman $300 and that was 13 years ago. A few more years went by and I would dream of the wind in my hair and hear the quick clippity clop of a pony gait. I didn't act on my dream until my cousin just a few years my senior was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer and I myself was approaching my 50th birthday. I was at my cousins bedside during her last summer on this Earth. Each afternoon I would drive home in tears. I was cutting thru the Metroparks in Berea one of those afternoons when I looked up and saw a woman on a horse. I went home and proclaimed to my family. "I am buying a horse before I turn 50".

Well the adventures that led from that point to where we are today could fill a thousand blogs. Those of you who have laughed along that "Urban Trail" with me can fill in as needed. But the main purpose of my "Pony Rides" Adventure is to introduce young city or suburban kids to the "LOVE of the HORSE" without breaking their parents bank accounts. With the support of my wonderful family and terrific friends I think we can do that.

We are working hard on the website, but having alot of fun here on facebook also. Dozer worked hard in the round pen this morning before the rain and got some extra treats for being so good at his "whoa".
