I have much to share with you all! I'm very excited that STG is out, my kids could not stop running around and dancing to this song when I first showed it to them. They must have listened to it like 15 times in a row or something like that. This song isn't about me though; it's about the people, especially the children and young teens, and young adults who are fighting everyday for their lives! It's been over 100 years since they have had to fight for the right to exist. Our textbooks and school lessons just skipped right over their story but because of technology they were able to live stream, and share their hardships in real time. Censorship became impossible, and the world watched the truth rip through souls like a paper shredder on a mission! I couldn't sit there and say and do nothing just like many others have or haven't done now, and over the course of the last century. Music is how I express myself, and I wanted to make a song about this, and I wanted to commission the artwork from someone who lived in Palestine. Through one of my donations to individual fund campaigns, I was connected to a family in Gaza that was trying to send their daughter to school. We failed to raise enough to accomplish that mission but there is a bigger issue at hand. Their home which five families are living under, was partially blown apart, and now they must face the upcoming rainy, and cold season. The supplies to repair the home enough to make it through the weather are expensive. Their economy (while in shambles) still functions, but at great inflation. The cover art for this song was drawn by a 7-year-old that lives in that house named Kawkab. The resilience in this family not just to survive but to live and love; has been more than inspiring to me. I hope that their story, and this message, can continue to move the vehicle for resurrection of the human movement for empathy and the gravity of restoration to a peaceful and supportive human experience for all. Everything we built was together, and we must put aside our differences to keep it together. If we can't all agree on the statement of this song, then let's start there and work our way forward.
