The Benedict Haid Farm is a 650 acre rural, secluded mountain top retreat located only 21 miles from Charleston, West Virginia. A perfect location for wedding venues, corporate retreats,reunions, special anniversaries, and family gatherings. The Farm consists of three rustic log structures, The original Haid House, the newer constructed Black Bear Lodge, and the currently under construction, Pine

Grove Cabin. The Haid House and Black Bear Lodge have fully furnished modern kitchens. The Haid House kitchen has a commercial freezer and refrigerator to accommodate catering services food. The Haid House has two bedrooms plus a pull-out sleeper, and the Black Bear Lodge has two private bedrooms plus a loft bedroom area over the living room with three full baths. The smaller Pine Grove Cabin is currently still under construction, but will feature one bedroom, loft sleeping area & open concept living room/kitchen area with large stone fireplace. The Haid House has a 36'X48' screened-in porch with a fireplace and a hot tub for relaxing. The elevated Wedding Arbor is surrounded by a large, flat area for setting up chairs to view a wedding. Space is also available to set up a tent for tables & chairs and/or a dancing area. The Black Bear Lodge is a great place for wedding family or guests to stay. A massive stone fireplace adorns the living area and three bedrooms with private bathrooms can accommodate up to six guests. The mountaintop views are spectacular! Highlights of nature include miles of hiking and a pond for fishing. This is a magical rural retreat! The large Barn is perfect for indoor weddings & comes with tables & 128 chairs available for guest seating.

Congratulations to the folks that have worked so hard to establish the Elk River Trail system. It allows people to hike, bike, ride horses, kayak, boat or tube on a nearly flat trail.
We have observed that out of state people are taking notice. The Benedict Haid Farm has fielded many inquiries and confirmed multiple bookings from groups that want to
enjoy a visit to the trails since we are not far from the trailheads in Clendenin and Clay County. I see nothing but good reviews about the Elk River Trail System. It is a tribute to our

The Benedict Haid Farm has tried for years to secure reliable, fast internet for our guests. We are pleased to confirm that we now have seamless high speed internet at not only the Haid House, but now also at the Black Bear Lodge, the new Pine Grove Cabin and even in the barn for events there. All of the cabins are equipped with Smart TVs or Firesticks so every television can stream programs using the internet. We know that most of our guests do not come to the farm to watch television or search the internet, but people surely appreciate being able to check emails, catch up with work or otherwise use wi fi as needed. Now they will have that option in all of our cabins.

Available Weekends Update:

We have recently had two very desirable October, 2024 wedding weekends unexpectedly become available.
The weekends of October 19 and October 26 are now back on the “available” list and at a special price.
The popular “Standard Wedding Package” is $3700 and includes the Haid House, barn with seating for 132, and the 3 bedroom Black Bear Lodge.
But for either of these two dates in 2024 we can offer a $400 discount and you pay $3300 OR you can pay the normal rate of $3700 and also have the new Heart Pine Cabin at no extra cost. (It usually rents for $400 itself.) October dates are ordinarily the first ones to be selected each year, but here is a chance to have a country wedding this October with fall foliage at a nice discount.

The new Heart Pine Cabin at the Benedict Haid Farm is now completed & ready for rentals.
The "Barnwood Builders" assisted in the restoration of the exterior of this 1800's cabin and was featured in Season 10 of their TV show.

Well, we finally have internet at the Benedict Haid Farm!
After years of trying every option and after an 18 month wait after sign-up, Starlink is up and running at the Haid House.
The large outside party deck and the inside rooms have good, reliable fast service.
We immediately placed an order for another dish and gear for the Black Bear Lodge, and this order was accepted without us having to wait.
The only delay now is the wait for the equipment to arrive.
So, very soon the Black Bear Lodge will also have internet.
Most of our guests do not go to the farm to surf the internet, but we realize that having contact with family and work is sometimes necessary.
So, we are very happy that we now can offer Wi-Fi at the farm.
Earlier this year we installed a commercial grade cell phone booster system, so now the Haid House is fully modernized and high tech for the convenience and pleasure of our guests.
We strive to make the Farm the very best place it can possibly be for weddings, reunions and vacation or weekend getaways.
