Dalyn D Photography has been part of my life since 2012, but photography has been part of me for so much longer than that. I have spent more than 25 years with a camera in my hands, and somehow I still get excited when I know I caught the moment. The real smile. The look between two people when they think nobody is paying attention. The tiny newborn details that change way too fast. The ridiculous laugh. The senior finally feeling confident in front of the camera. The family who hasn't had everyone together in years. The moments that don't seem huge until one day they are.

Over the years, so many of you have trusted me with your stories. I've photographed your babies and then watched those babies grow up. I've photographed seniors, weddings, pregnancies, newborns, families, dancers, businesses, celebrations, and everything in between. I've watched families change. I've watched kids grow. I've gotten to celebrate some of the happiest moments of your lives with you.

Some of you have been with me for YEARS. You have booked me. Rebooked me. Shared my posts. Tagged your friends. Recommended me when someone asked for a photographer. Voted for me. Encouraged me. Let me try weird ideas on you. 😂 Trusted me when I said, “Okay, hear me out…” and then proceeded to explain something that probably sounded completely insane until you saw the pictures.
You have allowed me to make a career out of something I genuinely love. That is not something I take lightly.

There have been moments when I've questioned myself, questioned whether I was good enough, wondered if I should keep going, and wondered if maybe it was time to put the camera down and then something like this happens. People took time out of their day to vote for me. Not because you had to, but because you wanted to. That hits me a little differently. It means more to me than I can really explain.
An award is wonderful. Believe me, I am absolutely going to be proud of this one.

I love getting to see clients who have become friends over the years. You get to know what they like and what makes them happy. I look forward to watching their littles grow and change even though I still see their same sweet little faces.

I’ve made the decision to step away from wedding photography for the foreseeable future. Weddings have been such a meaningful part of my photography journey. I’ve had the privilege of standing beside so many couples on one of the biggest days of their lives, documenting the nerves before the ceremony, the happy tears, the laughter, the families coming together and all of those tiny moments happening in between. Being trusted with those memories has never been something I’ve taken lightly and I am incredibly grateful to every couple who has allowed me to be part of their story. Sometimes we reach a point where we realize it’s time to make room for a different chapter. I’ll still be photographing the families, children, seniors, dancers, creative sessions and all of the beautiful, wonderfully weird things that have made me fall in love with photography over and over again, for now. This means, I won’t be accepting new wedding bookings. To the couples whose wedding days I’ve photographed over the years, thank you. Thank you for trusting me with your memories, inviting me into your families and letting my photographs become a tiny piece of your history. It has truly been an honor. ❤️

Today I want to talk to y'all about something that's been on my mind. Until further notice, I won't be featuring children on this page.
Here's the thing, I love photographing families. I love capturing those tiny, fleeting moments of childhood that grow up faster than any of us are ready for. That's not changing, but the world doesn't always protect kids the way it should and their images deserve more care than the possibilityof them being taken from somewhere online. I'd rather guard their innocence than risk it for content.
If you've booked a family or kids session with me, don't worry one bit your gallery is still yours, delivered privately, just like always. This is only about what gets posted publicly.
Y'all, protecting the people we love is worth more than a full feed. Thank you for understanding. 💛

For the first time in a very long time, I was able to devote an entire summer break to my family and myself. We were able to spend precious time together. Allowing ourselves to slow down was what we all needed.
This past year has been so full of life-changing events: the loss of loved ones, making difficult choices as a family about the future, moving to a new home and career decisions. For years, it has been a constant blur of activity and life was chaotic. Our daily life was filled to the brim, but I was missing my family and I was losing myself.
This break, we worked on us, on communication, on being present, on enjoying the company of each other and not taking time for granted. I am so thankful for this special time that we have spent during this summer.
It was so imperative for healing, something it felt like we had put on pause and didn't allow ourselves to do. When you slow down, you can see what is most important and learn what becomes layers of yourself that you shed for growth to take place.
Thank you for allowing me to take this time. It will never be forgotten and I will treasure it. The kids, Justin and I needed this so much.
Now school is getting ready to begin, BBQ smoke is rolling, camera batteries are charging and new business opportunities are beginning. We look forward to the coming adventure with full hearts and a little more sleep than usual.
