The story of Special Moments began over fifteen years ago when Tammy escaped the day-to-day rigors of corporate America to open a wedding planning firm that valued the beauty of the day as much as the details. The ideal Special Moments couples are adventure seeking, hoping to create a day that is both unique and memorable. Special Moments events range from intimate elopements on the beach to extravagant weekend-long celebrations for 600. And given the depth of her portfolio, Tammy and her team are ready for any challenge. The Special Moments’ recipe is simple but successful: lots of listening and careful planning, with a bit of handholding and a whole lot of laughter.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ When your bride calls you her “fairy godmother,” you HAVE to share the review! 🪄💜

But Shayna & Forrest’s story makes this one even sweeter…

These two originally met while performing together in a play. Shayna was Princess Fiona and Forrest was Shrek. 💚👑

And, well… apparently Shrek really did get the princess! 😂💕

Fast forward to the end of May, when they celebrated their wedding with 200 family and friends at the beautiful Vinoy Resort & Golf Club in St. Pete.

Getting a 5-star review is always wonderful, but what Shayna said about their wedding day is exactly what I want every Special Moments couple to experience:

“On our wedding day, everything ran like clockwork. I had zero stress and was able to be fully present, enjoying every moment with my husband, our family, and our friends.”

That right there is the goal. 💜

There can be a hundred things happening behind the scenes on a wedding day — and my team and I will happily worry about every single one of them so our couple doesn't have to.

🥂 And just like that… it’s WEDDING WEEK for Pam & David! 💍

I love this photo because it was taken the day we decided the Wyndham Grand Clearwater Beach was the one — the place where they would celebrate their wedding.

At the time, the big day seemed so far away…and somehow, here we are!

This coming Saturday, all of those months of planning, decisions, details and anticipation finally come together when Pam & David say “I do!” ❤️

I’m so excited for these two and cannot wait to see everything we’ve been planning come to life.

Six more days, Pam & David!! It’s almost time! 🥂🎉

Perfect little bubbles everywhere. 🫧✨

You'd never know that just outside the frame were me and my assistant Krystal frantically blowing bubbles AND shooting bubble guns into the air trying to create this magical moment. 😂😂😂

Welcome to wedding planning.

Sometimes I'm managing a 200-person timeline.

Sometimes I'm coordinating 15 vendors.

Sometimes I'm bustling a wedding dress.

And sometimes…

I'm armed with a bubble gun. 😂🫧

There are SO many little things happening behind the scenes on a wedding day that our couples never see — and honestly, that's exactly how it should be.

You enjoy your wedding.

This is one of my favorite examples.

Sandpearl Resort included a complimentary ch*****ne toast with the wedding package.

So instead of treating that ch*****ne as just another included item, we thought…

Why not make it part of the escort-card display?

Each guest's name and table assignment was attached to a glass of ch*****ne.

Now the ch*****ne is:

🥂 The complimentary toast
📍 The escort-card display
✨ A beautiful detail guests see as they enter the reception

One item doing multiple jobs — without adding another big expense to the wedding budget.

After 20+ years of planning weddings, this is something I wish more couples knew:

Before adding another rental, display or décor item, look at everything your venue and vendors already include.

Sometimes we can repurpose something that's already been paid for and make it feel completely intentional.

I'm ALL for gorgeous wedding details…

But gorgeous wedding details that don't require spending more money? Even better. 😂💜

WEDDING PLANNER PSA: YOU ARE ALLOWED TO LAUGH DURING YOUR CEREMONY. 😂💍

I know. Groundbreaking advice from someone who has been planning weddings for 20+ years. 😂

But here's why I say it…

Couples spend SO much time worrying about doing everything “right.”

Where do I stand?
When do I hand off my bouquet?
What if I mess up my vows?
Which hand does the ring go on?
What if I cry?
What if I LAUGH?

My answer?

Please laugh. Please cry. Please be YOU. 💜

Your ceremony isn't a performance that has to go perfectly.

If you stumble over a word, laugh about it. If your hands are shaking while you're putting on the ring, that's okay. If your officiant says something that has both of you cracking up like THIS…

Even better. 😂

Those unscripted moments are often the ones that make your wedding feel completely different from everyone else's.

Because years from now, I promise you aren't going to look at this photo and wonder whether you stood in exactly the right spot.

You're going to remember why you were laughing. 💜

And THAT is the good stuff.

A LITTLE WEDDING PLANNER TRUTH… 💜

After 20+ years of weddings, I can tell you something with absolute certainty:

Your guests are NOT going home talking about whether every napkin was perfectly straight. 😂

They aren't going to remember if the ceremony started five minutes late.

They probably won't notice that one centerpiece was slightly different from the others.

And that tiny detail you've been stressing about for three weeks?

They may never even notice it.

What WILL they remember?

How much fun they had.
How loved they felt.
The packed dance floor.
The great food.
The laughter.
And seeing the two of you looking THIS ridiculously happy. 💜

Yes, the details matter — that's why you have people like me worrying about them for you. 😉

But somewhere along the way, don't get so caught up in creating the “perfect” wedding that you forget what we're really creating:

A really incredible day with the people you love most.

And judging by this photo… I'd say mission accomplished. 😂💜

ONE OF MY FAVORITE PIECES OF WEDDING-DAY ADVICE…

Sneak away. Just the two of you. 💜

Your wedding day is going to go by SO much faster than you think.

There will be family photos, introductions, speeches, dinner, dancing and a hundred people who can't wait to hug you and celebrate with you.

But somewhere in all of that wonderful craziness, try to find five minutes that's just yours.

Walk outside. Watch the sunset. Take a deep breath. Look at each other and say, “We're married!” 🥹

No guests. No timeline. No one needing anything from you.

And sometimes your photographer happens to follow along and captures something like THIS. 😍

Twenty+ years of weddings and I will never stop encouraging my couples to take those few quiet minutes together.

Because the timeline matters… but these are the moments you'll remember. 💜

And if there's a dock available for a little twirl, you obviously take advantage of it. 😉💃

WEDDING PLANNER TIP: DON'T UNDERESTIMATE THE POWER OF LIGHTING. 💜

Take a good look at these two photos.

Same reception design.
Same gorgeous florals.
Same draping.
Same room.

Then we turned on the lighting. ✨

It's one of those details that's easy to overlook when you're building a wedding budget because lighting isn't exactly the most exciting thing to shop for. 😂

But sometimes it gives you one of the biggest transformations for the entire room.

Uplighting can bring your wedding colors into the space, soften a ballroom, highlight draping and florals, and completely change how the room feels once your guests walk in.

Does every wedding need it? No.

But when I'm designing a room, I'm always looking at what will give us the biggest visual impact for the money we're spending.

This wedding at Opal Sands is a perfect example of why lighting sometimes makes the list. 💜✨

And yes… I may be slightly biased toward the purple. 😂💜

WEDDING CEREMONY IDEA 🌱💜

When couples tell me they want their ceremony to feel a little more personal, one of the things we talk about is whether they want to include a unity tradition.

And no — it doesn't have to be a candle. 😉

Over the years I've seen couples incorporate sand, w**e, handfasting, cultural and religious traditions, family traditions…and in this case, planting a tree together.

This particular choice was even more meaningful because they were married on Earth Day. 🌎🌱

I love when a wedding detail isn't there just because Pinterest said it should be.

It has a reason.
It tells us something about the couple.
And years later, it still means something.

The tree-planting idea is especially sweet because after the wedding, the couple can continue caring for something they planted together on the day they were married.

That's the kind of wedding detail I will choose over “we're doing it because everyone does it” every single time. 💜
