Tried something a bit new, I made struffoli or Italian honey balls. They are deep fried dough like a doughnut, covered in honey and sprinkles. I didn't use the standards pastry dough but I used pizza dough and they turned out delicious. A bit hard the next day, but a quick warm up on the microwave did the trick.

Successful test flight!!! 🛻🍕

For the first time since starting this build, these wheels and axles actually moved down the road!

I only topped out at about 25 mph, but most importantly… NOTHING FELL APART! 😂

I do have one wheel that looks a little wobbly. I’m hoping it’s just the rim and not an axle issue, so I’m going to swap the spare on and take it for another run to see what happens.
All the panels are officially test-fit too! Next step is pulling them back down, trimming everything to final size, painting the frame, cleaning everything up, and getting the panels permanently installed. Then we can start getting some paint on this thing!

Still have work to do on the back ramp and rear doors, but man… I DROVE IT DOWN THE ROAD TODAY!

After all the cutting, drilling, bending, shrinking, stretching, head scratching, blood, sweet, tear, stress and figuring out as I go, seeing this old horse box actually rolling down the road again was a pretty good feeling.

One step closer to becoming a pizza trailer. 🍕🔥

Great day!! Got the other side fitted and temporarily in place. Tomorrow I'll trim it up and get all the panels in their temporary homes and then I'll work on the the ramp and rear upper doors. I got a new idea I'm working through, so stay tuned!

Today went really well. I didn't get everything done that I wanted, but I got one curved roof panel completely formed and temporarily installed.

I finally got some time behind the English wheel. I'm definitely not a pro yet, but I got it to do somethings I wanted it to do. The shrinker/stretcher was my best friend today and without it, there's no way this panel would've come together.

I've still got to work out the little dings and smooth everything up, but it's up, fits the shape perfectly, and that's a huge milestone.

Special thanks to my helper today, Kelly, she a trooper and I couldn’t have done today without her

So I thought yesterday was going to be a good day. I used a test piece (one I'd already messed up) to learn a few things, so I figured moving to a fresh panel would go smoothly. Well... it cracked again, even though I was properly annealing the aluminum.

After taking a step back and really analyzing what was happening, I realized I was trying to shrink way too much metal. With the simple hand tools I'm using, I was asking them to do something they just weren't meant to do.

So I changed my approach. Since I had already bent the front closer to a true 90° instead of the original ~110°, so with the new dimensions I couldnt follow my old roof as a template and I only need to bend what was absolutely necessary. That meant I had far less metal to shrink, making it much less likely to crack.

Put that theory to work today and... IT WORKED!

There's still some final shaping and smoothing to do, but we're finally getting close. At least one side is coming together exactly how I envisioned it. (More pictures to come with the one side installed).
