We're lucky to host so many meaningful days at Landon Estate and this was one we'll hold onto for a long time. 🌳

On Sunday, April 26, Landon Estate had the honor of hosting Roots for Reece, the annual Chef's Picnic founded by Chef Blake Gotliffe in memory of his friend Reece Byrd. Mother Nature traded spring sunshine for gray skies and a cold wind, and it didn't matter one bit. More than a dozen of the Triangle's chefs cooked in the open air while roughly 150–200 guests, families, and beverage partners gathered for an afternoon of food, music, and connection.

What makes this day different is what's underneath it. Since 2019, Roots for Reece has helped fund more than 3,000 doses of naloxone across North Carolina in partnership with the NC Harm Reduction Coalition — the lifesaving medication used to reverse opioid overdoses. Every dose is another chance, another phone call, another day.

To the chefs, the pourers, the volunteers, and everyone who braved the cold to support this cause: thank you. As Blake says, community is everything.
