We're in Leesburg, VA this weekend for a family wedding. ❤️ You know what they say 👉 Virginia is for lovers! ❤️

One of my personal goals this summer was to go hike in different places, so this morning I headed over to Rust Nature Sanctuary and Manor House.

😍 BEAUTIFUL LOCATION!! 😍

Not only does it provide for a beautiful place to spend your morning hiking, but if you are in or near Leesburg, VA it's a beautiful wedding location.

I loved how it had several different locations on the property to have various sizes of weddings (& elopements). I thought I'd share some of my pictures from this morning's hike.

Make sure you check out that beautiful beautiful bench that was giving off some Nicholas Sparks' The Notebook vibe. 😍

Traditions are important for many couples and their families on their wedding day.

One of the most well known traditions goes like this: Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue, and a sixpence in your shoe. ❤️

Did you know this tradition actually goes back all the way to 19th century Lancashire? How neat is that?

This photo captures an important moment between the bride and her husband's Nan in fulfilling the "something old" and "something borrowed."

This pearl necklace was worn when Nan got married as a young woman. ❤️ What an honor to be able to wear this piece of family history!

I remember when planning my own wedding, besides finding the venue and the perfect dress, the thing that stressed me out the most was finding the *perfect* first dance song. 🎼

I remember my husband (then fiancé) coming home, so excited because he had just heard John Legend on the radio singing "All of Me. 👩‍❤️‍👨" He fell in love with the song, and while we considered that song for a really long time, we ultimately fell in love with "I'll Stay With You" by John Legend. 😍

The words to our first dance song now hang on a sign in our home and I can tell you that even 8 years later, that the song really does still mean a lot to me!

So if you are like me and having a hard time finding the *perfect* song, I thought I'd share some of the top First Dance Songs for 2023.

They say a photo says a thousand words. When I look at this picture I wonder what was being said. What life and marriage advice was being bestowed upon the newly weds. ❤️

I think it's something so many take for granted and simply may not take the time to do on this day, but I think in life we need to sometimes stop and listen to what those who have gone before us have learned along the way.
