On Saturday, April 25, volunteers from Rise 'N' Reach, in collaboration with Rayo Events, spent the day bringing new life to the Clarkston Community Center Foundation’s edible garden and outdoor space.

Together, they planted blueberry bushes, refreshed garden beds with mulch, and painted picnic tables used by families, youth, neighbors, and community programs throughout the year.

The result was more than a refreshed space. It was a reminder of what community care looks like in action: people working side by side to make the Center more welcoming for everyone.

Thank you to Rise ‘N’ Reach, Rayo Events, and every volunteer who helped make this day possible. Your work will continue to grow here. 💚

Last Saturday, the Clarkston Community Center was full of energy. The space was alive with youth, ideas, and real conversations about the future.

We had an incredible group of young people join us for the Youth Displacement Project, where they took time to talk through challenges they’re facing in their communities and schools, and started mapping out what’s next for them. It was thoughtful, honest, and inspiring to witness.

A big thank you to Professor Pegah Zamani and the team from Kennesaw State University’s College of Architecture and Construction Management for leading this work and creating space for these important conversations.

We’re also grateful to the amazing volunteers from Rise 'N' Reach for bringing great activities and distributing sporting goods to our youth. Your energy and generosity made the day even more special.

This is what community looks like. Showing up, supporting each other, and creating space for growth.

We’re looking for new board members (volunteer roles) at the Clarkston Community Center.

If you care about community and have been wanting to get more involved, this is a meaningful way to do it.

The Center brings people together through arts, education, and programs that serve one of the most diverse communities in the country. We’re looking for folks who are willing to stay engaged, support fundraising, and help us grow our impact.

If you have experience in areas like finance, legal, marketing, fundraising, or community leadership, that’s great. If not, that’s okay too. What matters most is that you care and are willing to contribute your time and energy.

If you’re interested, or know someone who might be a good fit, send me a message or email me at

And if this isn’t for you, sharing this post would really help us reach the right people.

On January 09 at Creative Collective,
after we gather for Creative Business Foundations with Maria, we’ll shift into a shared moment of reflection and making.

Together, we’ll create our 2026 Vision Boards, focusing on what we want to grow, protect, work toward, and stay grounded in throughout the year ahead. This is not only about creating something visual, but about shaping a guide that supports our everyday mental practice, helping us return to what truly matters.

A vision board becomes a quiet reminder. Something to look at, revisit, and realign with as the year unfolds. By returning to it again and again, we stay connected to our intentions, our values, and our collective hopes. And ideally, when we look back at the end of 2026, we’ll feel proud of what we’ve built, learned, and carried forward.

We’ll provide magazines, boards, glue, and basic supplies. You’re welcome to bring your own photos, stickers, words, drawings, or meaningful materials to personalize your board. Those who wish may share part of their vision with the group, sharing is always optional.

- January 9, 2026
- 6:00–8:00 PM
- Clarkston Community Center

This gathering is open to artists, creatives, and community members of all backgrounds. Creative Collective is a community-centered art hub at Clarkston Community Center, created to support connection, reflection, and creative growth.
