a festival to celebrate outsider and alternative blues. music and musicians inspired by the north mississippi sounds and styles. it began way up the Mississippi river around the twin cities in 2007. related events happen all round the world, but the big one has happened in Clarksdale MS since 2015.

Raut Oak day 2. Still savoring the beautiful memories and great music. My clips are short ‘cause I have no patience for holding still during the music, but wanted to share some glimpses.
Seeing so many musicians that I have seen play at Deep Blues in Clarksdale was really special.
Thank you Christian and crew for an amazing experience. ❤️

Chris Johnson’s family brought a memorial bench to Clarksdale and placed it at .

When show at Red’s in Clarksdale was announced, my thoughts went immediately to Chris and how much he would have enjoyed the gathering of so many of his favorite musicians in the town he loved.

I met the amazing by chance and a plan was hatched to bring the bench to the show.

Chris had a great view of the stage, lots of visitors and was the last to leave the party. 🎸

It was an amazing night with too many folks from the Deep Blues family to tag y’all.

I continue to take a hiatus from producing Deep Blues Festival in Clarksdale but perhaps again someday.

I’m taking advantage of this break to finally make it to this year and I’m looking forward to connecting with DBF friends in Germany. 🌳

REDS ALERT 🚨 No other place we’d rather be on the eve of this album release than Clarksdale, Mississippi, the home of the blues.
