Did you know a wet knot is harder to untie? That’s why they say rain on your wedding day is good luck! But honestly, Mark and Caitlin don’t really need luck when they’ve got this much LOVE!

It literally rained ALL DAY, but New Leaf Farm gave me a whole new appreciation for just how beautiful the inside of that barn is. We even managed to sneak outside for a few minutes with umbrellas and got some pretty awesome misty photos out of it!

And because every wedding needs a little something unexpected, the alpacas from Windy Haven Farm were there to greet guests during cocktail hour. I mean, come on. How can you not love that?

My favorite part of the day, though, was how much personality these two brought into everything. Their playlist went from Fall Out Boy to the Grateful Dead, and somehow it made for the PERFECT vibe. I love when couples make their wedding unapologetically THEM, and these two absolutely nailed it.

Rain, alpacas, killer music, and two awesome people. I’d say this day was pretty damn lucky after all!

Sometimes all it takes is a little push from your kid to get the ball rolling! Kristen and Brandon had been Facebook friends for a long time before Brandon’s son gave him the nudge he needed to make it something more. And the rest is history!

These two share a love of music, which is why Brandon proposed at a Motionless In White concert. And here’s the crazy “connection” I like to point out… I actually used to play drums with some of those guys in the band back in the day! Small world!

Their wedding at Irem Pavilion was the perfect mix of gothic vibes, fall colors, and gorgeous views. Oh, and because apparently a perfectly normal wedding just wouldn’t cut it, we even got a nighttime visit from a few actors from their annual haunted hayride!

It was weird, wonderful, a little spooky, and 100% THEM. I had an absolute blast with these two!

My company motto is “unique photos for unique couples” and I LOVE when a wedding comes along that makes me go, “Yep, this is exactly why I chose that motto.”

Jim and Christa’s Noir wedding was meticulously planned down to every detail and was an absolute EXPERIENCE. It was so much more than just an awesome wedding day. Every part of it felt completely intentional and completely them.

The Mütter Museum was basically made for this kind of wedding. The day started with a simple black ceremony in Mitchell Hall, then the whole thing shifted into something completely different when we moved into the Ashhurst Room for the reception.

The room felt like a scene from an old noir film. Dramatic lighting, a black wedding cake sitting right in the middle of it all, and noir films playing across projector screens covering the windows. Everything was dark, moody, and incredibly intentional.

And of course, we had to step outside for some portraits in the medicinal herb garden, which somehow fit the whole vibe perfectly.

Every part of the day felt like it belonged to Jim and Christa. It was cinematic, dramatic, completely unique, and 1000% them.

I love how differently couples choose to celebrate their wedding day. There’s something really special about watching people just enjoy the day their own way, surrounded by the people they love.

Shelby and Talon are the perfect example of that.

Over 200 guests packed into Maple Ridge at Red Maple Ranch to celebrate with them, and somehow the day was so laid back that we actually stayed ahead of schedule. That almost never happens.

By dinner, most of the wedding party and guests had traded their wedding clothes for jeans and boots. Shelby, of course, kept the dress and Louboutin shoes on for as long as humanly possible.

They had a DJ. They had a band. They danced, laughed, hung out with their people, and just enjoyed the day exactly how they wanted to.

It was 1000% them. Laid back, kind, genuine, and the perfect way to celebrate an awesome couple.

Sometimes accidentally setting your Facebook ad radius a little too wide works out pretty damn well.

That’s how I met Shawn. He hadn’t even booked a venue yet, but we chatted a bit and I knew pretty quickly he was my kind of person. A few weeks later he came back with their date and venue… in Buffalo, NY. Four hours away.

I told him absolutely. Let’s make it happen.

They traveled down here for their engagement session last year, and ever since then I’ve been ridiculously excited for my “destination” wedding of 2026.

And it did not disappoint.

Sunny skies, a colorful Beauty and the Beast inspired wedding, friends and family playing characters from the movie, and an awesome flash mob later in the night. It was one of those weddings that was just completely, unapologetically THEM.

I’m so glad that Facebook ad accidentally found these two. I couldn’t have asked for a better reason to make the four hour drive to Buffalo.

So. Many. Smiles.

Jennifer and Nick truly are a couple that balance each other out perfectly. I couldn’t get Jennifer to stop smiling if I tried (which luckily I don’t need to try 😂), and had tons of fun making “dad jokes” to get Nick to crack his serious persona (spoiler: it totally worked).

It was a large guest list, and I now TOTALLY understand why everyone wants to be friends with Jennifer and Nick. They are the epitome of a down to earth, fun, and trusting couple, and it was awesome spending the day with them.

These two made it very clear from the beginning that the people were what mattered most to them. Family, friends, the little moments, the big moments, and everything in between. And honestly, that made my job pretty easy. There was no shortage of genuine moments to photograph.

Bonus points for the flower grandmas.

Yes… flower grandmas.

And yes, they absolutely understood the assignment. 😂

Every couple has a story, and Angelina and Kyle have a pretty amazing one.

They met 10 years ago when they somehow ended up on a pizza date with mutual friends. Kyle went into the military while Angelina finished school, and now a decade later they have a house, a strong group of friends, and a whole lot of life ahead of them.

While they have been through some really difficult things together recently, they’ve stayed strong, supported each other, and kept moving forward as a unit. I’ve honestly never met a stronger couple and I could feel how they supported each other the entire day. They also have some pretty awesome people in their corner. Some of them I even knew from my own high school days and growing up back home, so this one felt a little extra special.

It was an amazing day with an amazing couple and some seriously amazing friends and family.

Angelina and Kyle, thank you for letting me be there to tell a little piece of your story.

When Katherine reached out, she mentioned she was a visual artist and photographer. No pressure. She also told me her matron of honor was a wedding photographer who offered to shoot the day. But then Katherine said something that let me know I NEEDED to work with her:

“I told her I don’t want you doing that because I want you to dance with me, give your speech, and celebrate.”

That is who Katherine and Colin are. Kind, trusting, and deeply present. That one sentence made me determined to earn their trust… and it worked.

Lace Village was the ideal backdrop for it with its brick, industrial character, and quiet layers. It was the perfect venue, the perfect day, and the perfect couple. They trusted their team completely, they gave us the freedom to step in for quick moments and fade away when magic was happening.

Katherine and Colin, thank you for trusting me to see your day through my lens. I hope these photographs always bring you right back.

They planned an AMAZING backyard wedding in PA while living in ALASKA! 🐻‍❄️

Juliana and Ken, along with their awesome family, are the perfect example of how teamwork can make for the perfect wedding day. I wish I could honestly say what kind of fairytale magic they had working behind the scenes to make it all happen, but they sure did. I’ve worked at some very well known venues where things did not run this smoothly or look this good 🫣.

And when the inevitable little hiccups happened, because let’s be honest, they happen at EVERY wedding, they took them in stride and let them become part of their story. Just look at Ken with the boombox 😂.

Between the beautiful landscape, a ceremony setting that rivals some of the best I’ve ever photographed, a golden hour that absolutely HIT, and a day that just flowed perfectly, this was one of those weddings that could honestly serve as a blueprint for how to do it right.

Juliana and Ken, thank you so much for having me as your photographer! It was an absolute blast being part of your day and capturing all of it. ❤️
