The Spirit on the Square Committee proudly congratulates Mayor Craig Hill and Teresa on being honored with the Spirit of Clarinda award at the Clarinda Chamber of Commerce Annual Banquet in February.
“Clarinda Mayor Craig Hill and his wife, Teresa, have both dedicated themselves to making the Clarinda community a better place to live. Craig is actively involved in numerous annual Chamber events, including the Southwest Iowa Band Jamboree, serving as Parking Superintendent for the Clarinda Craft Carnival, and recently refurbishing the exterior of Santa’s House.
Teresa’s love for the Christmas season inspired her to establish the Spirit on the Square event, which features activities for children and families. Her vision of lighting the large trees around the downtown square with Christmas lights is both nostalgic and has become a centerpiece of the downtown lighting campaign.”
Spirit on the Square simply would not exist without their vision and commitment.
