The Mardi Gras party is here every Tuesday, with The Big Easy Band, "Fat Tuesday" is becoming very popular for a mid-week dinner and music night out. Wednesdays it's the Mel Brown Trio, on Thursday Tom Grant, Friday Ron Steen's Trio and Vocal Jam, and on Saturday The Trio, Kevin Deitz, Charlie Doggett and George Mitchell. Our series of Young Musicians Showcases is very busy. Last week the PSU Jazz Ensemble opened for the Cheryl Alex Trio, and a Jr. Class Recital for PSU student Micah Scothorn on Saturday. Both great show with very talented young people. Today is Mardi Gras Tuesday with the Big Easy Band at 7pm, later this week it's Mel Brown, Anandi and friends, Ron Steen's Trio and Mosaique. There are two Young Musicians Showcases this week, the PSU Jazz Ensemble Thursday night, and the PSU Junior Class Piano Recital for Micah Scothorn on Saturday. Then, it's the Cheryl Alex Trio is on stage following PSU, with Randy Porter and Ed Bennett, on Saturday after the PSU recital, it's the Rita Marquez Quartet with George Mitchell, Ken Anoe and Mike Snyder. Tonight music with Cubano Quartet, and Mother's Day is coming soon ~ spoil Mom at Conway's! This weekend Ron Steen on Friday, Mike Winkle and Conversation Quartet on Saturday.
We had a blast last March with Mardi Gras, so every Tuesday is Fat Tuesday with the Big Easy Band and the Sounds of New Orleans. Wednesday nights it the legendary Mel Brown.
