Many baseball fans know the name William Ellsworth Hoy, better known as "Dummy" Hoy. Born in Ohio, Hoy was one of the first deaf athletes to play Major League Baseball and is credited with influencing the hand signals used by umpires today—signals that remain a vital part of the game. His remarkable career helped break barriers for deaf athletes and left a lasting impact on baseball that continues more than a century later.

When asked to celebrate Hoy's legacy through the Signing for Hoy campaign, Accent on Cincinnati was proud to help bring the vision to life.

With an aggressive three-week timeline, our team purchased, transformed, and fully built out a shipping container activation that became the centerpiece of the campaign. From fabrication and branding to logistics and installation, every detail was executed on an accelerated schedule to ensure the experience was ready to welcome baseball fans and tell Hoy's incredible story.

Projects like this are why we love what we do—combining creativity, craftsmanship, and logistics to create meaningful experiences that connect people to important stories.

A special thank you to everyone involved in making this tribute possible and helping shine a spotlight on a Cincinnati and baseball legend whose influence is still felt throughout the game today.

As we look ahead, we want to extend our deepest gratitude to David Freeman, whose leadership, vision, and dedication helped shape Accent into what it is today. We’re thankful for his continued involvement with the company as an advisor and partner—his guidance remains an invaluable part of our future.

We are heartbroken to learn of the passing of Martha Ferrante, Director of Catering at the Northern Kentucky Convention Center.

Martha was more than a partner to us at NKYCC — she was a true collaborator, a steady leader, and someone who cared deeply about every event and every client who walked through those doors. Her professionalism, warmth, and attention to detail made every production better, and her spirit made every planning meeting brighter.

At Accent on Cincinnati, we were honored to work alongside Martha on so many meaningful events. She understood the pace, the pressure, and the passion behind what we do — and she always showed up with grace and a solution-oriented mindset.

We will miss her tremendously.

Our thoughts and prayers are with her family, friends, and the entire NKYCC team during this difficult time. Her impact on this industry and this community will not be forgotten. 💙
