THE 81st ANNUAL BOAR'S HEAD AND YULE LOG FESTIVAL will take place virtually this year. You can watch it anytime on Saturday January 2, or Sunday, January 3.

that is convenient for you. We have also added an introduction before the video which includes a short history of The Boar's Head tradition, and a synopsis of the action and symbolism you will see. A downloadable program is also available through the website to enhance your viewing experience. The Boar's Head is probably the oldest continuing festival of the Christmas season. On its 600th anniversary in 1940, it was first celebrated at Christ Church, Cincinnati.

It’s almost here! The 83rd annual Boar’s Head and Yule Log Festival starts tomorrow. We are honored to host one of only a few celebrations held outside the UK. This Christmas celebration is a costume-filled pageant with traditional 14th century English attire. The time-honored performance will leave participants feeling inspired and excited for the year ahead.

If you can’t be there in person, we will live stream the Sunday performances on our website, www.boarsheadfestival.com.

The tradition continues. Long hailed as Christ Church Cathedral’s gift to the city, the 83rd annual Boar’s Head and Yule Log Festival is this weekend!

The free tickets are sold out for all performances, and due to the overwhelming response, the wait lists are also closed. We will be live streaming the Sunday performances on our website, www.boarsheadfestival.com.

The altar is set with Boar’s Head festivity decorations!

Just a reminder for what you can expect from this year’s festival.

Boar’s Head will be performed IN ITS ENTIRETY, with both in-person and virtual options, but in a “concert-style” this year. Our wonderful orchestra and choir will be seated up on the chancel in front of our beautiful new organ. Our costumed cast, which will be smaller than usual, will perform in the space between the pews and the altar. There is more space here than usual as several of the front pews have been removed to make more space between the audience and the actors.
You will hear (and be able to sing along) with all your favorite hymns, and you will hear all of our stunning soloists. We do ask that all audience members wear a mask while in the cathedral, and during the entirety of the performances.

January 1, 2022 – Performance @ 5:00pm
January 2, 2022 – Performance @ 2:30pm
January 2, 2022 – Performance @ 5:00pm

Christ Church Cathedral is back with its timeless tradition and gift to the city, The Boar’s Head and Yule Log Festival. The festival starts at a Christmas celebration in a 14th century manor home in England and takes viewers back in time for a reenactment of Christ’s birth. Only a few performances like this exist outside of the United Kingdom.

This year’s concert-style format may look a little different from year’s past, but the joy of the season remains unwavering.

We are so happy to return to you live and in-person for the first weekend in January!

As we approach this year’s Boar’s Head and Yule Log Festival, we’d like to take a moment to remind everyone we will be asking for masks to be worn when inside the Cathedral and during the performance. This doesn’t mean you have to opt out of singing though. Feel free to sing loud and proud along with the traditional Christmas carols.

We are so excited to return to live and in-person performances this year for January 1st and 2nd!
