Tip Tuesday ~ Vendor & Transportation Edition!

Get the cell numbers of your vendors:
If you have questions or concerns on the wedding day, you typically need answers ASAP. Texting or calling a vendor directly is much better than leaving a voicemail on an office line, hoping for a return call.

Which cell numbers are the most important?:
Try to get a cell number for every vendor on your team. If that’s not possible, get them for the officiant, your reception venue contact, photographer/videographer, band/DJ, hair/makeup team, and any drivers hired to transport the bridal party or guests.

Why This Matters:
When confirming final details, mistakes about locations and start times are typically discovered. However, when the person confirming details does not communicate with the person assigned to your wedding or when a car accident closes a major highway - cell numbers can save the day.

Pro Tip:
Have a “designated rider” by assigning a friend or family member to be the driver’s contact on the wedding day. Give the cell numbers of the limo, party bus, or shuttle drivers to those “designated riders.” If the driver is running late or the guests can’t find the bus because it had to park a block away - the problem can be solved with one call.

Mental Health Wellness Tip:
Accept help when offered. You can relieve a lot of wedding day stress by assigning jobs like “designated rider” to people you know you can trust.

Early spring weather can sometimes feel like Mother Nature is playing an April fool’s joke on us. Just when we think it’s safe to put the wool sweaters in storage - you wake up and it’s 44 degrees. Maggie’s gorgeous florals and stationery remind us that April showers bring May flowers! We especially love the delicate floral envelope liner. Little invitation details like liners and wax seals surprise and delight your guests and set the tone for all the good things to come!

We are so thankful when a client gives us a 5 star review, but this one from Nicolette is my favorite. It’s a great reminder that a small act can have a bigger impact than you’ll ever know.

“After the father/daughter dance and during the mother/son dance my grandma came to me and said my grandpa would like to have a dance with me too. I told Brigid what was going on and she was able to coordinate with the band to announce another dance and picked the perfect song based on my description of “slow and short”. She did this in about 60 seconds. None of our guests knew that this dance wasn’t originally planned as part of the evening. It was seamless. The dance ended up being something I’ll always cherish being able to share with my grandpa and I’m so thankful Brigid was able to make it happen.”

There’s something about a crisp white tablecloth surrounded by white vineyard chairs that makes a head table so inviting. The subtle pastel florals really pop, and the gorgeous indoor/outdoor trees and ferns create balance and a sense of calm. The lounge furniture groupings anchor the space, welcoming guests to stay a while. This design is a great place to start if you want a wedding that feels more like an intimate dinner party!

TIP TUESDAY ~ Add a Time Cushion ✨✨ On the wedding day, everything takes longer than you think it will.

used over 300 candles to create this romantic candlelit masterpiece for Amber & Ryan. After arriving at the venue, transporting the candles to the correct floor, unpacking the candles, putting them in vases, removing any price tags/fingerprints on the glass, and then placing them on the tables and down the aisle - they still had to light them.

How Much Time:
Add at least 30 minutes for setting up table numbers, es**rt cards & place cards, 15 minutes for transportation, and 15 minutes if guests need to move from the cocktail hour space to the reception area.

Why This Matters:
Banquet captains work very hard to serve your menu at the appropriate temperature. When there are delays for any reason, there can be negative consequences (like cold food or overcooked entrees).

Pro Tip:
Remove packaging, stickers, and price tags the day before setting up, and wear food prep or medical gloves to avoid leaving fingerprints on picture frames, vases, table numbers, mirrors, etc., while setting up.

Mental Health Wellness Tip:
Work ahead when you have downtime to avoid leaving everything until the week of the wedding. If you know certain groups of guests will be attending, you don’t have to wait to assign seats until the RSVP’s come in.

TIP TUESDAY ~ Hair & Makeup Edition! ✨✨✨

Have a Hair & Makeup Schedule:
Ask your hair and makeup team how much time they expect to spend on you and anyone else having services (bridesmaids, mothers, grandmothers, flower girls, etc.) and assign time slots for each person.

How Much Time:
Most request 60 minutes for the bride’s hair and another 60 minutes for makeup. They typically need 30-40 minutes per service for anyone else. The bride should have a later time slot, (but not the very last) to ensure her services are not rushed.

Why This Matters:
Getting ready on the wedding day should be fun - not stressful. If hair/makeup services run late, there could be a snowball effect that delays getting dressed, shortens pre-ceremony photography time, and results in a late ceremony start. Assigned time slots prioritize the bride, allow bridesmaids with children to strategically plan their day, and encourage the low-key, relaxed vibe everyone wants.

Pro Tip:
Text this schedule to your family and bridal party the week before and tape a copy to the wall on the morning of the wedding to avoid being asked, “What time am I again?”

Mental Health Wellness Tip:
If you don’t like to be the center of attention, getting ready with a large group in a small space can drain your social battery. Make sure you have a space to spend a few moments alone if you start to feel overwhelmed.
