KOCO 5 announced that Tessa Dorrell will join the station as its
new Sports Anchor, beginning May 4th. Dorrell will anchor sports alongside Sports Director Bryan Keating.
An Oklahoma native, Dorrell is currently serving as Miss Oklahoma
through June after first becoming involved in the Miss America
organization through Oklahomaās Little Sisters program. She is a
graduate of Oklahoma State University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Sports Media with a minor in Sports Management. At OSU, she served as president of the Association for Women in Sports Media, was a sports anchor for the Daily O newscast and worked as an in-game host for Cowboy Baseball. She was named the 2024 Bill Teegins Memorial Scholar by OBEA and received first place for Sports Personality Reel in 2025.
During college, Dorrell worked as a sideline reporter and analyst for
the Oklahoma Sports Network. She also spent the last five years as
an in-game host for the Oklahoma City Comets, the Triple-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Dodgers.
