I haven't even allowed myself to look at this page in months because I've been afraid of making the announcement.
Hillside Flowers is officially closed permanently.
This business has always been a "side hustle" .. a place for me to continue creating and a way for me to provide a micro business option in the area for flowers for all occasions. Although it wasn't my only source of income or my only occupation, it was a thing I poured my heart and soul into.
I lost my "real" job a few months ago at the hands of a few individuals who felt local cliques were far more important than my livelihood. As a result, I uprooted my family to find another job. But God is good, and I found the ultimate career in a place I believe is perfect for my family.
Unfortunately that meant that we had to leave Hillside Flowers behind.
I hope one day I'll be able to reopen another similar business where we live now, but it isn't currently part of our plan.
I want to thank everyone who supported me in this little adventure of mine, but this will have to be the end of this story.
My most heartfelt thanks go out to you all, truly.

The shed is stocked up with candles, and wax melts! All made from an all natural blend, including palm wax, bee's wax, vegetable wax and soy wax. A semi hard blend that promotes slow burn and holds fragrance well!
Your candles will last, and smell incredible for up to 48hours (depending on size).
We have a selection of fragrances:
Lavender
Lilac
Peony
Maple cream
Tea tree and mint
And more!
Come check us out! The shed is open 9-dusk 7days a week, self serve.

** The road is NOT accessable from the top of the hill due to washouts with the rain yesterday. The bottom of Carey Hill road is still accessible

I have put so much research into wax, wax blends, fragrances, burn time, melting points and oils. There are moments when I feel like I am just winging it.
But I've learned so much, and I'm really proud of the product I've created.

I have been very absent from my business lately (for pretty much all of 2023 so far, if I'm being honest). I am slowly combing through messages, emails and voicemails that I have neglected for the last three months and owe everyone an apology and explanation.

My husband and I both have growing professional careers, and are the incredibly proud parents to two of our own biological children, and the occasional foster child. Our family is my number one priority including our foster children. Being a parent is demanding and often requires my undivided attention, and it requires me to put things like my career and my business on the back burner.

This little flower business brings me abounding joy and fills my cup, but is infrequently my number one priority. So I've made the decision to make a shift to allow this small business of mine to better fit our lives while still providing you with the beautiful products and experiences you've come to expect from me.

~I will be adding additional products such as all natural pillar candles, soaps, facial scrubs and gift items such as fine art and floral preservation created by me.
~There will be holiday items available seasonally like wreaths, centerpieces, bouquets etc.
~The you-pick Sunflower field will be open again this summer (Hopefully better than ever!)
~locally grown hand tied seasonal bouquets will still be available in season.

As new items are available, I will keep this page and the Hillside Flowers Instagram page updated. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out- I will do my best to respond as quickly as I can.
