The mission of Chippewa Youth Hockey Association (CYHA) is to provide the youth of Chippewa County with quality programs for ice skating related activities.

We support teamwork and cooperation through mutual respect, sharing of skills, knowledge, and responsibilities. A kid on ice is seldom in hot water!

CYHA is one of the few volunteer-run, non-city owned hockey rinks in the country. Thanks to volunteer fundraising and donations of time and materials, we have expanded our facilities over the years to a state that is envied by many communities.

We are currently able to cash flow the maintenance of the facilities, but capital improvements require more fundraising. We plan to use the proceeds from this golf outing to help build our endowment fund to cover future programs and capital expenses.

The CYHA Annual Meeting is Wednesday, April 16th at 7:00pm in the Lobby at the rink.

If you are a member (parent/guardian) of a skater, please plan to join us!

We will be doing:
-A year in review
-Chiller project updates
-Voting for new board members
-April board meeting

Please also note, the Beerfest committee is requesting members to bring a bottle of alcohol to donate to the raffle item for the event.

We are in our final days of the Chiller Project Raffle ticket sales window with the drawing coming up next week Tuesday, April 1st!

As we've shared, only 750 tickets will be sold in total and we still have a lot left - so odds are very good for winning!!

To cap off this fundraising effort, the Chippewa Youth Hockey Association is hosting a free Last Chance Rink Rat Raffle Event this coming Sunday, March 30th from 4pm - 7pm on the South Rink. 

We are inviting you and asking you to invite others to join us for a free opportunity to play rink-rat (pick-up) style hockey. The ice times are divided by ages/levels to keep things fun and fair. 

Mites (U8) & Squirts (U10) - 4pm - 5pm 

Peewee (U12) & Bantams (U14) - 5pm - 6pm

Highschool & Adults - 6pm - 7pm

**A minimum of skates, helmet, hockey gloves, & stick required to participate. Full hockey gear is encouraged.**

During the event there will be CYHA Board members available to answer questions about the big Chiller Project that is going to be taking place mid-April through early June - shutting down our rink for 6-8 weeks. They are also going to be available to talk through open board positions and answer any other questions. 

Lastly, as the name suggests - this is a last chance opportunity to purchase or share about the Large Item Raffle we have been promoting. The reality is that we are short of our total financial needs for this project and we need your help as association members to get us closer. The farther from the required amount we end up at means we, as an association, may need to look at other ways to finance the chillers (which are needed/required for us to continue having a rink). One of those potentials is to raise registration rates - which we have historically been able to maintain at the lowest in the state and something we prefer not to do.

Congratulations to the Region 1 Kohlman Cup team for taking 2nd Place in the 2025 Boys Kohlman Cup Tournament! Chippewa Youth Hockey was represented by Nolan Ash, Beckett Boettcher, Henry Krista and Emmitt Skelton. Way to go!

Ad the 2024-25 season winds down to a close this next week with last practices - we want to take a minute to acknowledge the amazing growth CYHA has been experiencing over the past 2 seasons!

These pictures highlight how we've created a strong, fun, and supportive community thanks to the amazing members who volunteer their time and talents to the association.

And while the winter season has ended, we have A LOT happening over the spring and summer months!
