We LOVE a good wedding toast! A heartfelt speech from someone who loves you can be one of the sweetest moments of your reception. But a little planning goes a long way! Here are some dos and don'ts:

✨ DO decide ahead of time who will be giving a toast. You should know exactly who has the microphone before the reception begins.

🚫 DON’T leave the microphone open for anyone who wants to speak. As much as we love your enthusiastic Uncle Bob, an open mic can quickly turn into a very long—and sometimes awkward—part of your reception. 😂

✨ DO give your speakers a little guidance. Keep it heartfelt, appropriate, and reasonably brief. A good toast is usually better when it leaves everyone wanting just a little more!

✨ DO consider your rehearsal dinner! If you have several people who would love to say a few words, the rehearsal dinner can be a wonderful place for additional toasts without taking up a large portion of your wedding reception.

A little planning means more time celebrating, dancing, and enjoying your brand-new spouse! 🥂🤍

If your pets are an important part of your life, there are many ways to make them part of the celebration!

🐶 Have them walk down the aisle
📸 Include them in your engagement or wedding photos
🍹 Name a signature cocktail after them
🪧 Include their photo on your bar sign, cocktail napkins, or décor

And if your venue doesn’t allow pets (or your pup isn’t exactly wedding-day material 😂), you can still find a special way to include them!

🥂 This was our first wedding of the "fall season" and it was so fun! I mean, a wedding with a bouncy castle can't NOT be fun. The dance floor stayed full all night, they gave out baseball caps as party favors, and the father-daughter dance transitioned into "Wobble" to get everyone dancing (which worked)! Thank you for letting us be part of your special day, Mr. & Mrs. Lanier!

A special shoutout to the Maids of Honor who don’t wait to be asked—they see what needs to be done and just DO it! 🙌

A great Maid of Honor can be such a huge help on wedding day. She should be ready to:

✨ Keep the bride calm, hydrated, fed, and smiling
✨ Make sure the bridal party stays on schedule
✨ Help the bride with her dress, veil, shoes, and bathroom trips 😂
✨ Hold onto the bride’s phone and personal items
✨ Have tissues and makeup touch-ups handy
✨ Help communicate with family or the bridal party so the bride doesn’t have to
✨ And of course... fluff the dress at the alter

To all the Maids/Matrons of Honor who quietly handle the little things, anticipate what’s needed, and say “I’ve got it!” before anyone even asks… we see you, and we appreciate you! 👏

A couple weeks ago we mentioned how important it is to choose the right people to surround you while getting ready on your wedding day- this photo from one of our summer weddings is a great display of having the right people by your side.

There is something incredibly special about gathering around a couple and praying over them just before they enter into the marriage covenant. What a beautiful reminder that marriage is more than one day—it’s a lifetime. And there is something so powerful about beginning that covenant surrounded by people who love you and are praying for your marriage. 🤍

A wedding day is FULL of big moments, big feelings, and sometimes a little bit of chaos. There are vendors to coordinate, photos to take, timelines to follow, people to greet, and a hundred little things happening all at once.

But in the middle of all of it, remember why you’re here. You’re marrying your person. ❤️

When the day starts to feel overwhelming, take a breath. Look at your new spouse. Hold their hand. Take a moment to remember that all of the planning, details, and excitement have led you to this one beautiful thing: you’re married.
