Songs from the Rez: Navajo Nation Songwriting Retreat This is a week-long songwriting and yoga retreat. The next one will take place May 25-June 1, 2021, Open to songwriters of all levels, beginner to experienced.

This is an intensive weeklong songwriting workshop and yoga retreat offered in the heart of Navajo Nation in the rural community of Many Farms, Arizona, May 25-June 1st, 2018. Workshop features daily songwriting assignments and guided mentoring from instructors, morning yoga classes, nightly song circles, and a final performance open to community members. The experience also includes a traditional

Navajo meal, an introduction to the culture, history and sovereignty of the second largest Native American nation, and is hosted by a prominent local Navajo family on their ancestral land. Also open to writers of all ilks (poets, fiction writers, spoken word artists) wanting to cross into songwriting but desiring mentoring, encouragement and inspiration to do so. Workshop limited to 10 participants. Early bird rates through March 1st. Registration deadline April 1.
