One of the #1 questions we get is: How To Save Money When Planning a Wedding

🙌🏻We know they can be expensive but if you are flexible, you can get what you want inside budget you need. See below some tips we have for you:

1. Set Your Priorities (a.k.a. Choose Your Must-Haves)
Every couple has that one thing they can’t imagine their wedding without. Maybe it’s a live band, an epic dance floor, or a jaw-dropping floral installation. The trick is to identify these non-negotiables early on and allocate your budget accordingly.

2. Get Creative with Wedding Decor
Pinterest is packed with stunning decor ideas, but those perfectly styled tablescapes and custom arches can add up fast. The good news is, you can achieve a similar vibe without the jaw-dropping price tag.

3. Rethink Your Wedding Venue and Date
Your venue will likely be your single biggest expense, but choosing a space that offers a lot of things inside the packages, you could save so much money. (Like we do here at The Postmark!) Think historic or vintage venues. Plus, opting for a Friday, Sunday, or even a weekday can slash your venue costs significantly.

4. Trim the Guest List (Yep, I Said It)
It’s not the most fun part of wedding planning, but it’s one of the most impactful. Fewer guests mean fewer meals, fewer drinks, and a smaller venue – which all add up to major savings. Create an A & B list! The A list is the first 50 people you can’t imagine having your wedding without. The B list can always fill in those who on A list are unable to make it. If the venue holds more and budget permits, you can always do the A list and make it 100 guests to start with.

Our number 5 is just to remember what's important! At the end of the day, your wedding is about celebrating the two of you – not just impressing your guests. Focus on the moments that matter, like your vows, the first dance, and that “just married” glow, and the rest will fall into place.

We have a few more so go check out our blog or even better, just set up your tour and let the professionals at The Postmark help you out! ❤️

Hey! It's Destiny! ❤️

This is for creatives in the wedding & event industry! Most of you know I've been in the industry for over 20 years. So crazy to say! I've always had a passion for weddings-- there is just something about helping families come together to celebrate love that is the best!

One thing I feel has been missing is a group that we in the same industry can gather here in Southern Ohio. I'm wanting to help with gathering those in the community in the hospitality/wedding/event industry. We have so many talented vendors in the area and I think we all should be seeing how we can help each other grow and expand.

We want to have a collective space for those to come and talk, bounce ideas off each other and so others can have face to face contact, to refer to others when they hear of a need.

I will be opening up The Postmark this evening. I will be here to answer any questions you might have. We will have music from SEAN POOLE'S MUSIC. Bar will be open if you would like a cocktail or mocktail! We will provide some finger foods as well.

Logan Detty with Loge Media will be here doing some head shots for those who are interested or need an updated one.

Share this so that we can grow as a community-- community over competition is what it's all about! Looking forward to a great evening and many others in the future!

Cheers! 🥂

For our couples, this is why we are so particular about floor plans and placement. Placing your DJ by the dance floor just helps make sure the dance floor stays full !!! They are also positioned to be able to see our staff to start ceremony 🩵

You’d be surprised how many people get it wrong…

When planning your layout for your wedding reception, there are several factors to consider; like where to put the head table, where to have your main dance floor, and where to set up food stations and other activities.

The one important thing that can often get overlooked is where you should place your DJ. 🎧

When possible, you want to do your best to have your DJ as CLOSE to the dance floor as you can. It’s the main reason why we’re there!

Here are 3 key points to remember. 👇

1️⃣ Visibility: Guests love to see the action. Placing us near the dance floor keeps everyone engaged!

2️⃣ Sound Quality: A closer setup helps the music reach everyone without losing quality.

3️⃣ Flow of the Night: Proximity allows us to read the crowd and adjust the vibe, making your reception unforgettable!

In summary, Positioning your DJ near the dance floor is key to keeping the energy high and the dance moves flowing! 💃🕺 Not only does this help create an electric atmosphere, but it also ensures all your guests can feel the beat and enjoy the music up close!
