Well did a local contest this weekend had a great time. Till awards time and I didn’t make it my du***ss was packing the rig up. Anyway got a first and 2 seconds to win the overall. We did whole chicken,beef ribs ,and pork.

First cook on my new Humphreys HotBox. Chicken no sauce just dry rub Humphreys sap sucker and Humphreys jiven hive did the same with the ribs no wrap and blues hog original sauce didn’t wrap haven’t done that in a long long time lol. Happy with both just need to learn to dial in the temps a little better. Huge thank you to the Humphreys I’m loving it

Fresh off the smoker for this weekend at the MMA FALL ROUNDUP smoked Oreo cheesecake I will have vanilla and chocolate I will also have an apple crisp cheesecake. I will also be doing the BBQ sundaes again. Saturday i will be doing the pre pay meal that will be chicken 1/4 baked potato , baked beans garden salad rolls or corn bread see what i have left by then lol. See me or i do believe the front gate will carry the tickets as well $20.00

Yesterday I entered in a chicken wing contest congratulations to all the teams that heard there names called. Was a good day I had fun, this is how I did.
3rd in people’s choice
1st in judging and I got to take home the belt for a year.
Want to say thank you for JRC for putting on a great event , and a great day. I can’t wait for Bristol in a couple of weeks time for some practice over the next couple of weekends.

First competition of the year in the book had good weather and a great time at the winter bbq competition. Congradulations to all teams that heard there names called. This is how I did today.
2nd place appetizer croissant filled with chicken cream cheese and sharp cheddar

1st place Ribs
Overall champion

Here’s what we had at my house last night for our dinner. Smoked on my newly acquired rec tec thanks Geoff. Smoked for approximately 7 hrs at 225 internal temp was 120 removed and let rest for a couple of hrs. Internal temp at time of slicing was 137 a little higher than I wanted. Still came out delicious. I used BIG DOG Prime Cut Seasoning. Want to thank Dan at Big Dog for everything you have done for me in the past year and a half.
