This past week was such a special milestone for me. ✨

I had the honor of teaching inside the Ascend Master Online Retreat—my first big step into the education space—and it felt incredible. Stepping into this new chapter, sharing what I’ve learned over the years, and connecting with so many inspired photographers lit something up inside me.

These images are from my workshop Fearless With Flash, where I walked attendees through some of my favorite, most reliable flash techniques—the same ones I use at weddings to create beautiful, consistent images in any lighting situation. Teaching this class reminded me how much I love helping other photographers feel more confident and capable in their craft.

✨ Happy National Photography Day ✨

Photography has always been a part of me. I remember being a kid with my dad’s waterproof film camera in hand every summer, determined to capture every moment.

In high school, I found the darkroom and fell in love with the magic of creating images from light. Years later, I found myself drawn back again—this time with the dream of making it my career.

But the real turning point came when my ex-husband passed away. In those first waves of grief, the very first thing I reached for were our photos. They became lifelines—reminders of moments we shared, of how it felt to be with him, of the love that tied us together. And yet, there were never enough. That’s when I realized just how sacred photographs truly are.

They aren’t just pretty pictures. They’re proof of life. They’re the bridge between memory and heart. They’re the gift we leave behind for the people who love us most.

That’s why I do what I do. And it’s why I’m so passionate about teaching others—because photography isn’t just a skill, it’s a legacy.
