Hi everyone📣I intended to put this out early this morning, but a family medical emergency occurred that I was focused on. I wanted to let everyone know that I planned to close orders tonight at 10pm. However, since I am just now getting this post out, I am going to extend the time to order until tomorrow night at 10pm. I'm doing so for those who have not had an opportunity to order, or for anyone who may have missed the posts, & some who may not even have knowledge of that we are doing this. My hopes are to make this as successful as possible to honor Daniel's blessing of allowing it to happen. Also, to follow through & finish strong, just as he did!💪🏻😇

I will begin prepping Wednesday, and most likely begin making everything on Thursday or Friday, depending on the volume. I always try my best to spin and package everything as close to delivery time as possible, so customers will get the freshest, best tasting cotton candy that I hope they have ever had. I also want to announce that all 3 cakes have been purchased. Please share this post tonight if you see it, and let's share it everywhere tomorrow as much as possible to keep it in the feeds. I have attached the original post below, where orders have been, and can continue to be placed. I'm so thankful to everyone who has ordered and shared posts. Your support means more than you know. I look forward to making the products and meeting everyone on Saturday!

Just a friendly reminder that we will be meeting this Saturday, the 15 at 4pm, just back behind Arby's in LaFayette in the large parking lot. I will be in a 2015 black Hyundai Sonata. For those who haven't sent payments for your order, please do so by Wednesday night at 10pm. If you can't pay through either digital service for any reason, please reach out and notify me in a private message that you will be paying in person at pickup. This is to ensure your orders are still fulfilled, and that I don't make too much or not enough product.

UPDATE: We just have a few more days until ordering ends! Please continue to share this post and maybe even place an order if you're able. We hope to finish strong and show support as a community in memory of Daniel and to the family!

Below I am sharing scripture that I came across last night, which left me compelled to share it with all of you. I believe it was a gift to be passed along, just as Daniel so beautifully shared scripture with so many of us. There is also a song that was inspired by these beautiful and true words that I will link below in memory🙏🏻

On behalf of Southern Spun and The Thompson's, I can't express how grateful we are for all of you showing up to support as you have. We humbly & greatly appreciate it! We'd like to thank everyone who participates and shares this post from the very beginning. In the spirit of Daniel, I want to encourage you to read your bible, get to know Christ if you don't have a relationship with him, and live through his will. So that we can all reunite in a place that is so perfect and free of the pain & struggles of this world🙏🏻🫶🏻

We are running an online fundraiser for Daniel Thompson. Daniel battled a rare form of cancer for quite some time. He is now no longer in pain, and I have no doubts that he is with our Lord and savior! His journey was beyond inspiring and he always stayed strong in his faith, and was a constant witness to others. I never heard Daniel speak and not mention Christ or scripture. Please keep his family in your prayers in the coming days, weeks, and months. We are honored that Daniel gave his blessing for us to coordinate this and we will finish in memory of him.

Orders can be placed in the comment section of this post only, to keep everything organized.

Ordering will end on Monday, February 10th at 10pm, and delivery will take place on Saturday, February 15th at 4pm. We will meet in the parking lot behind Arby's in LaFayette to distribute all orders.

Payment is requested in advance so we'll know exactly how much product will need to be made. Don't worry though, you'll have until February 10th to pay for your order. As each order is paid for, I will reply to your comment with "Paid", to lock your order in and to keep things organized as well. We will be taking payments through Venmo & PayPal only. The information for those will be posted below.

Daniel had an unwavering strong spirit. Despite the pain he was in, or how bad he felt..his faith in Christ and the desire to share that with others was beyond inspiring. His strength and positivity was infectious. Let's come together as a community to show his family love and support during this time. Half of all proceeds will go to Daniel's trust fund. The information and details of that will be provided for transparency after the fundraiser ends.

Payments can be sent to through PayPal & Venmo. If you can't pay now, that's fine! Go ahead and put your order in, and you have until February 10th to pay for it. If you don't have the ability to pay through either of these services, we will set it up for you to pay in cash on the day of delivery😊

I wanted to leave an update here for everyone because I see the page is still getting daily views. I unfortunately suffered an unexpected heart attack the day before my birthday. Prior to that, I spent a year away from social media. I used that time for self-care and to restructure the business, and had just started things back up a couple of weeks before the medical incident. I want to apologize to those of you who have reached out for services, but I do have plans to start serving the community again. I just have to be sure I have fully recovered and that I am ready to fully commit and be able to serve you all as I should. I'm planning for early Spring, but I'm hoping I will be able to get back at it before then.

I want to thank all of you that have been there to support small business such as Southern Spun Sweet Georgia Treats, and I hope to be able to provide you with even better tasting, fresh cotton candy in various and new, exciting ways. I also plan to offer other sweet treats (Reason for the name change). I look forward to serving you all and helping to make your parties and events fun and exciting for all in attendance. Thank you all so much for your continued support! Keep an eye on the page and for update posts. I plan to have a solid year in 2025, full of great service and the tastiest, freshest cotton candy and other sweets ever! I will be offering cotton candy cakes, as well as other party favors when I start back up. Please share this post to spread the word. We lost a loved one this week. We are focusing on supporting the family and going through the process of when such an unfortunate, but inevitable part of life happens. Please be patient and I will get back to you as soon as possible if you have reached out. Thank you for understanding❤️

We would like to extend a huge thank you to the Pharoahs Car Club Of Choo-Choo, TN for having us out for their "Cruizin' The Depot" car show in downtown Ringgold this evening. There were some NICE vehicles, and everyone was so inviting and friendly. We look forward to arriving earlier next month and getting a closer look at some of the vehicles. The rain held out just long enough for everyone to get to enjoy the evening! We were so busy that I only had a chance to take one picture, but it was one of the coolest cars there! Thanks again to everyone involved!

Southern Spun Cotton Candy lovers...Plan to come out next month on the first Saturday! We will be there with the big setup next time. Come take a stroll down main street, see some cool cars, and support surrounding communities in several ways!

*Also a big thanks to Randi Butler Richardson & her husband for sharing their huge canopy that kept everyone dry when the rain came in! The snow cone was REALLY good too! You have your flavoring perfected👌🏻If you ever hear of them being at an event, run and get one of their snow cones. They are reasonably priced and good servings. We enjoyed working alongside y'all and getting to see your awesome setup! It's always a pleasure working with vendors who care about making products as affordable as possible so that everyone can enjoy the sweet treats!😊👏🏻💙🩷

Do you love cotton candy? Who doesn't?! I would like to let everyone know that I am available for private parties (with 2-3 week advance notice), as I have some larger events coming up..and I would love to help make that special person's day more exciting!

Humidity levels(not temperature)are not good for cotton candy, but it gets eaten so quickly that the humidity won't stand a chance☺️ I have a spinning and bagging machine to handle any size crowd that your event will have in attendance. I can also offer prepackaged goodies for any event!

I was inactive on my personal and business page for 1 year due to health issues, but now that I have had everything taken care of, I miss spinning and making people smile..so I decided it is time to get back at it! I am not making cakes currently due to humidity levels, but I intend on offering those in the coming months as the levels drop. My flavor list is below in the photos, but it changes constantly, and I can offer just about any flavor you could imagine! How often can you get fresh cotton candy, in flavors you've never had, handed right to you fresh out of the machine?😁 I hope to be able to serve you soon! Almost one week later😬...I have been gathering pictures & getting permission to share them. I was honored to be a part of Daniel's Finger Lickin' Cancer Kickin' BBQ Showdown this past Saturday! The community came together, everyone showed up, & worked hard to help raise money to go towards Daniel's treatments, and his message at the end of the event was so inspiring! I don't think there was 5 minutes throughout the whole day that I wasn't spinning a cone. I appreciate everyone's support so much! I always have the fear that nobody will want cotton candy, but that fear was squashed very quickly Saturday. I went through 7lbs of Blue Razz sugar alone! I want to thank Kayla & Brandon for helping me for the day!..I couldn't have done it without you! I would also like to thank Manny Thompson for allowing me to be there & have a front row seat for the day. He missed his calling as an event coordinator!😆😉Days like these are an example of why our community is so great! Seeing everyone unite and showing so much love was a powerful thing to experience! I hope everyone enjoyed their cotton candy, & thank you again so much for the support!🩷🌪💙
