My dearest Molly Compton ‼️ You are someone I genuinely look up to, ever since we roamed the halls at Millikin together. When we reconnected in Chicago, you have no idea how precious those moments were to me hanging out, printing tee shirts, cutting tour badges, going “on the road” for the first time ever as a DJ to the MMX, chatting with your clever kitties…Even the few times I was lucky enough to catch your time mid-pandemonium — I could just feel your strength in all your stories… You are amazing. Seriously. What can’t you do? I fell in love with your voice the first time I ever heard you sing, then I find out you’re a bad ass studio manager who can engineer the f**k of any session or live event (including my senior recital) ASK MY PAPA; you were on the family fridge — my featured friend LOL 😂 You inspired me then, and now — every day — keep going! We are all rooting for you. Love you so much… and I’m so excited for more of this world to know you, too. 🫶🫵 https://chicagoreader.com/music/chicagoans-of-note/molly-compton-founder-of-ur-mom-records/?utm_content=bufferab771&utm_medium=social&utm_source=facebook.com&utm_campaign=buffer&fbclid=IwAR3HL-uXD1pxn3ERJuzysQqugz961zqFsDTHI8g3lLyMKpFsLIE9epxfbm4
Molly Compton explains why she founded her DIY label: “I wanted to be able to help artists who maybe just don't have the time, experiences, the resources, or the skills to make something that is going to create more sustainable careers.”
