Happy Friday to all! It sure has been a long time, but I wanted to touch base with a big, big update. *takes a breath*
After much (and I do mean much!) deliberation, I’ve decided to shut down Ever So Elegant. This was a dream that was years in the making for me - my love for weddings first started at my first real job out of college (a wedding mag!) in 2011 and it has followed me through various industry assistantships, shoots, and eventually planning weddings for friends and clients who felt like friends. This year I even coordinated my first same-sex wedding which was such a joy and a big check mark on my list.
Somewhere along the way, the passion for what I do started dwindling and anxiety set in big-time. This probably has a lot to do with my ever-evolving look at my unhealthy perfectionist tendencies, but I realized that planning became a source of anxiety, guilt and shame for me. I rarely felt like I was giving enough of my time or energy while simultaneously feeling like I didn’t have more time & energy to give. Additionally, I’ve realized that the best way for me to reach the joint goals that my partner, Mike, and I have ($$, house, fam), would be for me to invest my time in a FT gig with benefits. Over the summer I did just that by accepting a Rental Consultant position at CORT Furniture.
I know this is big news, but for me, it’s not painful news. In fact, I feel relief which, to me, means this is best move.
To all my past couples, current friendors and everyone in-between, thank you for all of your support. If you’d like to stay in touch on a personal level, you can find me at , but I’ll also be keeping this account open to follow my future career moves. I’m so proud of what I’ve accomplished thus far, but I have more big dreams and I know that the best is yet to come. 💖💖
