Immediate Need for Teaching Artists

ETA Creative Arts Foundation is seeking passionate and experienced Teaching Artists to support our growing arts education programs serving youth, teens, adults, and community members across Chicago.

We are currently seeking artists with experience in:

Theater Arts
Musical Theater
Playwriting
Creative Writing
Dance and Movement
Voice and Performance
Arts Integration and Youth Development

Ideal candidates will:

Have experience teaching diverse age groups
Demonstrate a commitment to arts education and community engagement
Possess strong classroom management and communication skills
Be passionate about advancing the legacy of Black arts and culture
Be available for weekday, evening, and/or weekend programming
Teaching Artists will play a vital role in inspiring creativity, building confidence, and developing the next generation of artists through ETA’s historic arts education programs.

Do you have questions about eta’s programming and arts education courses?

Join us today for two showcases featuring the adult students attending eta’s Okoro Harold Johnson Academy of Performing Arts this Winter/Spring!

This session we offered Musical Theater and Drama taught by Rueben D. Echoles and Acting for Theater, Film, and Television taught by Donn Carl Harper.

Additionally, as part of eta’s Useni Perkins Playwriting Workshop we offered Playwright Fundamentals taught by Rueben D. Echoles.

At 2pm join us for the “Musical Theater and Drama class” showcase, which will be an interactive immersive experience encouraging audience participation and feedback.

At 7pm, join us for a stage reading showcasing “Jupiter’s Orbit,” a 90 min one Act play written by Playwright student, Akhiyah Vaughn.

We look forward to seeing you and answering any questions you have about this session and future course offerings at eta!

Pulse Theatre Chicago is seeking actors, rappers, singers, and multidisciplinary performers for our upcoming immersive reading series: Ritual & Rhythm featuring:
• City of Water a new work by Isis Elizabeth
• Rhyme Deferred by Kamilah Forbes with Chadwick Boseman

We are looking for bold storytellers ready to engage poetic realism, hip-hop theatre, rhythm, vulnerability, and urgent Black storytelling.
