Every season, we set a challenge for ourselves: a new location, a new theme, and a brand new photographer behind the lens.
As a husband and wife duo running Kokate Events, we wear a lot of hats as planners, designers and artisans creating custom elements in our studio. But design should never feel copy and pasted. For us, stepping into a completely fresh environment with a new creative collaborator every season keeps our inspiration sharp and our ideas evolving.
For this shoot, we wanted to play with vibrant textures and organic garden backdrops, stepping into a space we hadn’t explored before with a photographer whose work we’ve admired from afar.
Building a wedding day vision takes a village, but more than anything, it takes synergy between the design team and the photographer capturing it. These seasonal shoots are our favorite way to test new aesthetic boundaries, build genuine relationships with local vendors, and step out from behind the clipboards for a moment.
